Kazi Nazrul University Admissions

Candidates applying for UG, PG, PhD and Diploma courses at KNU will be given admissions based on the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination and also based on the rank/ score of the competitive entrance test. Admissions to all undergraduate courses except BTech is based on the candidate’s performance in last qualifying examinations only whereas for BTech, the university accepts WBJEE scores. Also for admissions to MBA, candidates with valid scores in CAT/XAT/MAT are exempted from appearing in university level entrance tests. Admissions to Integrated MPhil. PhD, MPhil and PhD courses are based on written tests (KNU RET) and viva voce conducted by the university itself. However, candidates with valid scores in UGC NET/ GATE or equivalent entrance exams are exempted from appearing in university level entrance tests.

Ans. KNU offers an Integrated MPhil. PhD course in one specialization only, i.e, English. Candidates pursuing MPhil or those who have completed it 55% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply for this course. The university conducts a written test followed by viva voce for admissions to the course. However, UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SET/SLET/GATE/JEST/Teacher Fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil or equivalent programme are exempted from appearing in the entrance test.
