Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Biological Sciences, BAMS, BHMS, BPT, or a related discipline, with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.

Applicants of Indian nationality can apply through the General Category, while foreign nationals, Non-Resident Indians, or Indian nationals with NRI relatives can apply through the Foreign/NRI Category.

Selection Criteria: 

Admission to the program is determined by the candidate's performance in the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM), which is conducted across 52 centers nationwide, typically in May. The rank acquired in the Joint Admission Test and the candidates' preferences are the basis for centralized admission to the IITs.

About The Course: Biotechnology, as a scientific discipline, employs biological knowledge for the advancement of research and innovation. It encompasses an extensive array of subjects including Engineering, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Chemistry. The applications of biotechnology are diverse and extend to areas like Animal Husbandry, Vaccine and Medicine Development, Agriculture, Pollution Control, Energy Generation and Conservation, Management of Chronic Diseases, Ecological Preservation, and the enhancement of insecticides, fertilizers, and seed quality. Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biotechnology) is a Two year program and it is divided into Four semesters.
