MAKAUT UG Admission 2026

At the UG level, MAKAUT admits students to B.Tech, B.Tech lateral entry, B.Pharm, BCA, BBA, and B.Sc routes through separate entrance exams. B.Tech and B.Pharm seats are allotted through WBJEEB counselling, and the B.Tech pool across affiliated colleges is above 35,000 seats.

B.Tech selection depends only on WBJEE or JEE Main rank. There is no interview or group discussion for this route. After students fill their choices online, WBJEEB allots seats through centralised counselling.

• State quota (85%): West Bengal domicile students are ranked through WBJEE or JEE Main scores.
• All India quota (15%): Students from any state can compete through JEE Main scores.
• Tiebreaker order: Mathematics marks are checked first, followed by Physics and then Chemistry in the qualifying exam.

How to Apply for UG Courses at MAKAUT?

• For B.Tech, appear for WBJEE conducted by WBJEEB or JEE Main conducted by NTA.
• After the result, register for counselling on the WBJEEB portal at wbjeeb.nic.in.
• Enter college and branch choices during the choice-filling window.
• Download the seat allotment letter and visit the allotted college with original documents.
• Pay the admission fee at the college to secure the seat.

MAKAUT PG Admission 2026

MAKAUT PG admission covers MBA, MCA, M.Tech, and M.Pharm. MBA admission mainly depends on JEMAT, though CAT, MAT, and CMAT scores are also accepted. MCA admission is through WB JECA. For M.Tech, GATE scores get preference, and non-GATE students can apply through MAKAUT PGET.

MAKAUT MBA Selection Criteria

MBA shortlisting is based on JEMAT, CAT, MAT, or CMAT scores. Final admission uses a combined score from the written test and the GD/PI round.

• JEMAT has 50 MCQ questions for 100 marks, with a test duration of 60 minutes and 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.
• The paper has English for 40 marks, Mathematics for 40 marks, and Logical Reasoning for 20 marks.
• CAT, MAT, and CMAT scores are converted to a JEMAT-equivalent basis for ranking.
• JEMAT scores are accepted by more than 45 B-schools in West Bengal.

MAKAUT MCA, M.Tech, and M.Pharm Selection Criteria

For M.Tech, students with valid GATE scores are placed ahead of PGET students. Non-GATE students are ranked through PGET merit. Sponsored students must have at least 1 year of work experience after qualifying for their degree.

• PGET has 50 MCQ questions for 100 marks in a 60-minute online proctored exam.
• GATE-qualified students do not need to appear for PGET and get a separate merit list.
• The WB JECA 2024 cutoff for MAKAUT-affiliated MCA colleges in the General category was 221 marks.
• Distance education degrees are not accepted for M.Tech admission at MAKAUT colleges.

How to Apply for PG Courses at MAKAUT?

• For MBA through JEMAT, register at cetmat.formflix.com and appear for the test.
• Students with CAT, MAT, or CMAT scores can apply during counselling registration.
• For MCA, register for WB JECA at wbjeeb.nic.in and take the entrance exam.
• For M.Tech through GATE, apply at pget.examflix.in and upload the GATE scorecard.
• For M.Tech without GATE, register for MAKAUT PGET at pget.examflix.in.
• After results are declared, take part in e-counselling and choose the preferred college and branch.
• Visit the allotted college with original documents and pay the admission fee.

MAKAUT Scholarships

MAKAUT students mainly apply for the West Bengal government’s Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship. Students can apply online at svmcm.wb.gov.in after admission.
