K L University was established in 1980 as Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities (trust) and was later known as KONERU LAKSHMAIAH EDUCATION FOUNDATION UNIVERSITY. It began as KL College of Engineering and later in 2009, received the status of a deemed university. The main campus is located in Hyderabad.
