Asansol Engineering College (AEC), established in 1998, is a self-financing institute situated in Asansol, West Bengal. It offers BTech, MCA, and MTech in various disciplines. AEC is approved by the AICTE and is affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). The college is recognized by the UGC. According to the AEC Ranking, Outlook ranked it 110th out of 160 engineering colleges in 2024.

AEC Kolkata offers a BTech program as its flagship course. To be eligible for admission, candidates should secure at least 45% (40% in the case of reserved categories) in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The final selection will be based on the JEE Mains or the WBJEE examination scores. The AEC cutoff for JEE Mains 2024 for the general category ranged from 42960- 110141 depending on the discipline. The AEC fees for BTech is INR 4.21 lakhs for all specializations.

AEC Placements 2023 concluded with over 250 recruiters providing more than 500 job offers. The highest CTC offered was INR 22 LPA, and the average CTC stood at INR 4.92 LPA. The highest stipend for the internship was recorded at INR 50,000. Some of the recruiters were Accenture, British Telecom, Capgemini, Byju’s, Amazon, Cognizant, Bentley Systems, Deloitte, EY, Geotech, IBM, etc.
