GNITS Courses and Fees

Women can choose from 7 B.Tech specialisations at GNITS. The institute also provides lateral entry into B.Tech and five M.Tech specialisations. The fee schedule and basic admission requirements are given below.

As an autonomous college, GNITS sets its examinations and provides its own mark sheets, while JNTUH awards the degrees. Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning receive the strongest demand through TS EAMCET. Data Sciences and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering are newer additions to the course list.

GNITS Admission Process

Entrance examination scores and centralised counselling determine admission to GNITS. The college admits only women. Applicants must complete the relevant examination, counselling and document-verification stages for their chosen programme.

B.Tech Admission

GNITS fills B.Tech seats through TS EAMCET ranks and the centralised counselling process managed by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, also called TSCHE. Admission outside the government-prescribed rules is not offered through a separate direct-admission or management-quota route.

• Applicants must complete 10+2 from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or Biology where applicable. General-category students need at least 45%, while SC and ST students need 40%.
• Every programme is reserved for women because GNITS is exclusively a women-only institution. Male applicants cannot enrol in any course.
• The process includes TS EAMCET registration and examination, online certificate verification by TSCHE, web-option entry, provisional seat allotment, self-reporting to the allotted college and final verification of documents.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Students with a diploma can seek direct entry into the second year through TS ECET, which JNTUH also conducts. Applicants need a diploma in the relevant engineering discipline with at least 45% aggregate marks.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech admission uses GATE scores or TS PGECET ranks through TSCHE postgraduate counselling. A relevant B.Tech degree with a minimum of 50% is required. Students admitted with valid GATE scores may qualify for AICTE stipends.

GNITS Cutoffs

TS EAMCET closing ranks at GNITS change according to the admission year, branch and applicant category. For General-category women in 2024, the available closing ranks for CSE and ECE were as follows.

Closing ranks for EEE and IT generally fall within the mid-range band of 20,000 to 80,000. These ranks can differ each year and across categories.

GNITS Placements

The Training and Placement Cell coordinates recruitment for all B.Tech departments. GNITS received 1,459 offers in the 2024 placement season. CSE and IT reported the strongest average packages, while IT and software-services firms accounted for most opportunities.

Recruiters represented software services, mid-sized technology businesses and core engineering organisations.

Shaikpet is close to the HITEC City and Gachibowli IT corridors, giving students access to Hyderabad-based employers for internships and campus recruitment. Placement preparation includes a dedicated Women Leadership Development cell and a soft-skills training programme.

GNITS Rankings

GNITS participates in the national NIRF Engineering assessment and has consistently appeared within the 201-300 range among engineering institutes.

The institute has a strong standing among women-only engineering colleges in Telangana. Its NAAC A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.40, autonomous status and NBA-accredited departments reflect its academic and infrastructure standards.

GNITS Campus and Infrastructure

The GNITS campus covers 12.5 acres in Nehru Nagar, Shaikpet, Hyderabad. Banjara Hills and Film Nagar are nearby, while the major employment areas of HITEC City and Gachibowli are 6 to 8 km away.

Academic facilities include departmental computer laboratories, language and communication laboratories, a central library, a seminar hall and an auditorium. Students receive practical training in laboratories serving CSE, ECE, EEE, IT and emerging disciplines. Every B.Tech student also completes a mandatory Women Leadership Development and career-skills programme.

GNITS has no hostel within the campus. Students generally find accommodation in Shaikpet, Mehdipatnam or Banjara Hills through separate residential arrangements. TSRTC bus services and the Hyderabad metro connect the campus with other parts of the city.

GNITS Scholarships

Eligible GNITS students can seek financial support through Telangana government programmes, central schemes and merit-based assistance. TSSP scholarships cover qualifying SC, ST, OBC, Minority and EWS students, while other schemes provide tuition reimbursement or annual financial aid.

The AICTE Pragati Scholarship specifically supports women enrolled in technical courses and is available to GNITS students. Applications are submitted through the relevant Telangana scholarship portals or the AICTE scholarship portal, depending on the scheme.

GNITS vs Vasavi College of Engineering vs CVR College of Engineering

GNITS, Vasavi College of Engineering in Ibrahimbagh and CVR College of Engineering in Vastunagar are private autonomous engineering institutes approved by AICTE. All three use TS EAMCET for B.Tech admission and are affiliated with JNTUH.

GNITS is the only women-only institute among the three and offers access to the AICTE Pragati Scholarship for eligible women. Vasavi College of Engineering is an older private engineering college in Hyderabad, while CVR College of Engineering serves the northern Hyderabad corridors.
