Saveetha Engineering College, established in 2001, is a prominent engineering institution affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. The college has received an NAAC ‘A’ grade accreditation and is approved by AICTE and accredited by the NBA. In the SEC Ranking 2024, NIRF placed SEC in the band of 201-300 out of 300 engineering colleges. Additionally, it secured the 59th position in the engineering category according to Anna University rankings for the year 2024.

SEC offers BTech as its flagship program. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 45% in the relevant subjects. The selection process is based on the TNEA counseling conducted by Anna University. The TNEA 2023 cutoff for BTech AI was 25219, and for BTech IT, it was 25508. SEC also offers MTech programs. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have completed graduation in a relevant field with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. The final selection is based on GATE or TANCET scores. The total course fee for the MTech program is INR 50,000.

SEC also offers an MBA program at the PG level. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. The selection is based on MAT, CET, or TANCET scores. The TANCET cutoff for MBA in 2023 was 55 percentile. The total course fee for the MBA program is INR 35,000.

SEC Placement 2024 concluded with a 94% placement assistance rate. A total of 836 students registered for the placement drive and 793 students were successfully placed. Over 218 recruiters participated in the drive, offering a range of job opportunities. The highest package offered was an impressive INR 12 LPA, while the average package stood at INR 5.14 LPA. Prestigious companies that participated in the recruitment process included Devrev, Avasoft, Guvi, Sals Education, Presidio, Eunimart, Survey Sparrow, Devtown, and others.
