Madras School of Economics also known as MSE Chennai was established in 1995 and is approved by AICTE. MSE Chennai offers UG, PG, Integrated, and doctoral courses in economics. The courses offered at MSE Chennai are BA, MA, PGDM, and PhD programs. Applications are accepted in both online and offline mode. What I Liked

The only good thing is the course structure, and extremely few professors like Dr. Naveen or Dr. Goutham .
It's a decent college if you want to just stuff your head in books and study.

What I didn’t like

I dislike the infrastructure, because there's no infrastructure. Classrooms are infested with mosquitos, air conditioners don't work in half classes, and we're moved like refugees for finding a classroom . There's no campus life literally cause there's no campus.
The faculty is equally horrible. Most of them can't teach and have no idea about how to teach . Rest live in their dream world, where they are the best and they can do everything. It's so bad you'll laugh.

Remarks:

I was recommended this college because of its placements and the course structure. However these are the only good things of the college. There's no campus , the adminstration is absolutely pathetic and most of the teachers are extremely bad. The college takes its own admission test based on class 12 th curriculum, basic knowledge of class 12 th Maths , Statistics and Economics is enough to get in .

What I Liked

I like the peaceful campus and air conditioned classes which are very neat and clean and hotel mess food also pretty decent ,the campus very small but rather and crowd having less people make my college look peacful

What I didn’t like

Actually this lot of rigorous course which is stress full which will be there in every college and I which Is very small campus no need to walk longer for going to class and and college Has lot north Indians there they form groups and help each other and south Indian makes one grp language based friendship is worst

Remarks:

Actually compared to other colleges the fee is less and campus placement is high with avg package of 16 lakhs per annum for this amount of fee . And you have MSEET conducted by college it self and its multiple questions type there will be no negative mark but level is moderate to tough so for general cut off will be 60 to 70 and obc 50 to 60 and sc/st 40 to 50 the test contains arithmetic, reasoning ,English, of part A and part B mathematics (advanced ) or Economics you can choose one

Madras School of Economics - A new entrant in Bachelors of Economics

What I Liked

Faculty is very approachable and is willing to hear you out.
College community is friendly and closeknit.

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure lacks important things like an infirmary, gym.
Campus life is limited to the small number of people on campus.

Remarks:

A proven track record in mentoring Masters students in Economics for the last 20 years made me feel confident about the Bachelor's programme at MSE. We had to only appear for an entrance test called MSEET.

College Life

What I Liked

It has a lot of greenery and a very calm vibe associated to the place.
Campus life is quite enjoyable and students and faculty are very approachable.

What I didn’t like

The course being very challenging makes it really hard for many students.
There could be more liberty in providing OD for participating in cultural activities of other events.

Remarks:

We had to write a private exam on the score on which admissions were based. The exam tested us in 4 parts, namely - Quantitative, Economic, English, and Analytical skills. The college takes only a limited number of students and the course is very advanced and comparatively difficult. It is very academic-based and lacks a little in the cultural aspects.
