IITM Admission Dates 2027

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University holds IPU CET each year and uses its centralised counselling system to allocate seats at affiliated institutes such as IITM. The 2027-28 admission cycle is expected to follow the schedule below.

IITM Courses and Fees

IITM has six courses covering business administration, computer applications, commerce, journalism and mass communication. The UG courses follow the 4-year NEP 2020 format. Students who do not continue into the honours year may use the available exit option after Year 3. Each amount below is the fee for the complete programme.

These amounts follow the current fee structure approved by GGSIPU. The university announces any academic-year revision, which then applies uniformly to the relevant programme at its affiliated institutes.

IITM Admission Process

IITM fills its seats through the GGSIPU centralised counselling system. Applicants must meet the course eligibility rules, take the accepted entrance examination and register for online counselling.

1. Choose an IITM programme and confirm that its academic eligibility conditions are met.
2. Appear for the relevant IPU CET. MBA applicants may also use a valid CMAT score, while B.Com (Hons.) lists IPU CET (B.Com) / CUET as accepted examinations.
3. Complete registration through the GGSIPU online counselling portal.
4. Enter IITM and the preferred course among the counselling choices.
5. Wait for seat allocation, which is based on the applicable entrance rank and the availability of seats.
6. Complete the required admission formalities after receiving an allotment.

UG Admission for BBA, BCA, B.Com (Hons.) and BA-JMC

For UG admission, students must take the IPU CET category linked to their course and then join GGSIPU counselling. The allotment of seats follows the applicant's IPU CET rank.

• BBA and BA (JMC): A recognised board must have awarded the applicant a 10+2 pass with at least 50 per cent aggregate.
• BCA: Applicants need Mathematics in 10+2 and a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent.
• B.Com (Hons.): Eligibility requires 10+2 in Commerce with at least 50 per cent aggregate.

MBA Admission

MBA applicants can qualify through IPU CET (MBA) or a valid CMAT score. Both routes proceed through the same centralised counselling conducted by GGSIPU. General Category applicants must hold a recognised bachelor's degree with at least 50 per cent aggregate.

MCA Admission

Admission to MCA requires a valid IPU CET (MCA) score and at least 50 per cent aggregate in BCA or a B.Sc degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

IITM Cutoffs

IITM's 2025 IPU CET closing-rank ranges differed by programme and category. The figures cover General and reserved categories. Cutoffs can change each year with applicant numbers and available seats.

IITM Placements

IITM's placement cell supports students from BBA, BCA, B.Com, MBA, MCA and BA-JMC. It arranges career counselling, company interaction and recruitment activities with employers in IT services, BFSI, media, consulting and retail across Delhi NCR. BCA and MCA graduates are recruited by IT product and service companies. Banking and other BFSI employers hire MBA Finance and B.Com graduates, while media and advertising agencies recruit BA-JMC students. Management consulting and retail companies also offer roles to MBA and BBA graduates. IITM's Delhi NCR location places students near both mid-size and enterprise recruiters working in the capital region.

IITM Rankings

IITM has national recognition in media and management education. In 2026, NIRF ranked its Media and Mass Communication category at 79, while the Times B-School Survey listed the institute among India's top 19 business schools for management.

IITM Campus and Infrastructure

IITM operates from D-29 in the Janakpuri Institutional Area, a planned education hub in West Delhi. The campus is near Dwarka and Gurgaon and can be reached from west, south and central Delhi. Uttam Nagar West station on the Delhi Metro Blue Line is the nearest metro connection.

Facilities include computer laboratories for BCA and MCA, a business simulation lab for MBA and a digital media lab for BA (JMC). Students also have access to a central library with digital resources, seminar and conference rooms, and sports amenities. A separate training and placement cell handles career guidance, industry interaction and campus recruitment throughout the academic year.

IITM vs MAIT vs VIPS

Students considering IITM during GGSIPU counselling may also compare it with Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) in Rohini and Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) in Pitampura. Both are private, GGSIPU-affiliated institutes in Delhi and compete for applicants interested in management and IT courses.

Within the GGSIPU system, MAIT is commonly preferred by students seeking B.Tech and is considered one of its leading engineering colleges. VIPS covers a wider selection of commerce and humanities subjects, including law. IITM has a more concentrated portfolio in management and computer applications, along with separate NIRF recognition for Media and Mass Communication. Students targeting MBA or BCA can consider all three institutes under the same GGSIPU fee structure.
