IIM Lucknow Admission Dates 2027

The 2027-29 PGP admission cycle is based on CAT 2026. The exam is scheduled for November 29, 2026, followed by the result, shortlist, WAT-PI rounds, final offers, and joining process in 2027. IPMX follows rolling admissions during the year.

IIM Lucknow Courses and Fees

IIM Lucknow has 15 plus programmes, covering undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, blended, executive, and short-term management education. The fee range starts at INR 2,50,000 for short executive courses and goes up to INR 26,25,000 for the one-year IPMX. PGP students do not get any category-based tuition fee waiver.

The PGP (MBA) fee includes INR 10,95,000 in Year 1 and INR 9,80,000 in Year 2. Tuition is INR 6,30,000 each year. Year 1 has INR 4,65,000 as hostel, mess, infrastructure, and student activity charges, while Year 2 has INR 3,50,000 as other charges. BS Business Analytics is the only 4-year undergraduate degree at any IIM and costs INR 5,00,000 per year. BPGP costs INR 5,80,000 less than the residential PGP because it does not include compulsory hostel charges.

IIM Lucknow Admission Process

IIM Lucknow fills its PGP seats through merit-based admission. There is no management quota or donation-based entry. CAT is the main exam for PGP admission, and selection happens in two parts: first a composite score is used for shortlisting, and then candidates appear for WAT and Personal Interview.

PGP (MBA) and MBA-ABM Admission

For PGP and MBA-ABM, students need a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks. SC, ST, and PwD candidates need 45 per cent. Final-year students can also apply on a provisional basis. For General Category PGP admission, the CAT qualifying cutoff is 90 percentile overall and 85 percentile each in VARC, DILR, and QA. EWS and NC-OBC candidates need 82 percentile overall. SC candidates need 65 percentile, while ST and PwD candidates need 60 percentile.

The shortlisting score gives 60 per cent weight to CAT, 10 per cent to Class 12 marks, 10 per cent to graduation marks, 10 per cent to work experience, 5 per cent to academic diversity, and 5 per cent to gender diversity. Two female candidates get 5 bonus marks at the shortlisting stage to support gender diversity.

For final selection, PI carries 40 per cent weight, and candidates must score at least 12 out of 40 to stay in the selection process. CAT gets 30 per cent weight, WAT gets 10 per cent, academic performance gets 10 per cent, work experience gets 5 per cent, and diversity gets 5 per cent. WAT is a 30-minute written test based on current affairs, and the PI usually lasts 20 to 25 minutes.

MBA-SM (Sustainable Management) Admission

MBA-SM also uses a CAT-based admission process, but applicants must have at least 24 months of work experience as on March 31 of the admission year. For General category students, the qualifying CAT cutoff is 80 percentile overall. Work experience has 10 per cent weight in shortlisting.

IPMX (Executive MBA) Admission

IPMX applicants need at least 5 years of significant management work experience. IIM Lucknow accepts valid GMAT, GRE, or CAT scores for this programme. Selection is based on a personal interview held at IIM Lucknow, and admissions are conducted on a rolling basis through the year. Applicants must check iiml.ac.in for current round deadlines.

IIM Lucknow Placements

IIM Lucknow completed Final Placements 2025 with 100 per cent placement for the 39th PGP batch. Students received 604 offers. The median CTC was INR 31 LPA, the average CTC was INR 32.3 LPA, and the highest domestic offer touched INR 75 LPA. The highest international offer was INR 65 LPA. Female students made up 32 per cent of the placed batch.

Adobe, Amazon, American Express, Accenture, BCG, Bain and Company, Deloitte, EY, Microsoft, and PwC were among the top recruiters in 2025. Consulting recorded the highest average CTC at INR 36.6 LPA, with MBB and Big 4 firms recruiting actively. Summer Placements 2025 also recorded 100 per cent placement for all 576 PGP students. The highest domestic stipend was INR 3.95 Lakhs per month.

IIM Lucknow Rankings

IIM Lucknow holds the 5th rank in Management in NIRF 2025 and stands 4th among all IIMs. In the Financial Times Global MBA Rankings 2025, it is placed at 57th.

IIM Lucknow Campus and Infrastructure

IIM Lucknow’s main campus is located on Sitapur Road in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It has heritage and modern buildings, including the historic Sheesh Mahal. The campus is fully residential and has hostels, a library, auditoria, sports facilities, and a dedicated placement block. The Noida campus on the Yamuna Expressway supports MBA-ABM and some executive education programmes, giving the institute a base near the National Capital Region corporate market.

The institute has research centres, computer lab facilities, and incubation support through its entrepreneurship cell. Its Lucknow location connects students with IT parks, financial services companies, and government ministries in the state capital. The Noida campus gives direct access to NCR-based corporate recruiters. IIM Lucknow also offers the 4-year BS Business Analytics degree, which allows Class 12 graduates to begin their management education at an IIM.

IIM Lucknow vs IIM Indore vs IIM Kozhikode

IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, and IIM Kozhikode are all placed among the top IIMs in the NIRF Management rankings. Each institute offers a residential 2-year MBA through CAT. Students who receive calls from more than one of these colleges usually compare location, course options, placement sectors, and campus life before choosing.

IIM Lucknow stands out for BS Business Analytics at the UG level, MBA-ABM at the Noida campus near NCR companies, and strong consulting and finance placements. IIM Kozhikode is ranked 4th nationally and has a focused campus setting. IIM Indore offers IPM, a 5-year Integrated Programme in Management for students after Class 12. For PGP students, all three institutes offer broadly similar MBA outcomes.
