The admission method at BJB Autonomous College changes by course type. Regular UG admissions are managed through SAMS Odisha. PG admissions depend on CPET scores. Self-financing and professional programmes follow a college-level entrance process.

BA / BSc / B.Com (Regular UG)

These courses make up the main UG intake at BJB Autonomous College. Students are selected only on merit, and no written entrance test is held for these regular UG courses.

  • Eligibility: Students must pass 10+2 from a recognised board. BSc needs the Science stream, B.Com prefers Commerce, and BA is open to students from any stream.
  • Selection: The SAMS Odisha portal prepares the rank using 10+2 aggregate marks. Regular courses do not have a management quota.
  • Cutoff context: BJB is one of the most preferred government colleges in Bhubaneswar. For General Category students, first SAMS merit list cut-offs for BSc Hons in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics usually stay between 78 and 88 percent.

B.Ed and Integrated Teacher Education

For the 2-year B.Ed course, students need graduation in the relevant teaching subject. The 4-year integrated BA+B.Ed and BSc+B.Ed courses admit students after 10+2. Selection is done through the SAMS Odisha B.Ed portal, where entrance performance and merit ranking are both used. These programmes are self-financing and cost more than regular UG courses.

PG Regular Programmes (MA, M.Sc)

  • Eligibility: Applicants need graduation from a recognised university with the relevant Honours or Pass subject at UG level.
  • Selection: Students must have a valid CPET score. CPET means the Odisha State Combined PG Entrance Test, held every year by the state government.

Self-Financing and Professional Programmes

BSc IT, BSc Hons Biotechnology, BSc Hons Computer Science, BBA+MBA, and integrated BSc+MSc programmes are run in self-financing (PPP) mode. Admission is through the BJB Autonomous Entrance Test (AET). For BA.LLB, the college may use CLAT score or direct merit based on 10+2 marks, as decided for that admission cycle.
