NICMAR University Admission Dates 2026

NICMAR University publishes programme-wise admission schedules for its selection rounds. For the current Ph.D admission journey, only the events that are still upcoming are listed below.

NICMAR University Courses and Fees

NICMAR University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and research programmes in construction, management, engineering, architecture, planning and related fields. Its MBA group of programmes is the main academic stream, with 11+ specialisations in areas such as construction, real estate, infrastructure, sustainability and entrepreneurship.

The MBA in Advanced Construction Management (ACM) is meant for students who want senior roles with construction companies, EPC contractors, real estate developers and infrastructure consultancies. The PGD in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management (QSCM) is a one-year diploma for industry-focused learning and also accepts working professionals.

NICMAR University Admission Process

Admission at NICMAR University depends on the programme. MBA and other postgraduate applicants mainly go through NCAT, followed by further selection rounds, while undergraduate courses use entrance scores, merit or counselling as applicable.

MBA Admission

For all MBA programmes, applicants must have a graduation degree in any discipline. A background in civil engineering, architecture or construction gives an advantage for ACM and APM, but an engineering degree is not required for REUIM or the other specialisations.

• Entrance: NCAT (NICMAR Common Admission Test), conducted by NICMAR in two rounds each year
• Selection stages: application submission, NCAT written test, Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Application Rating, which reviews academics, work experience and extracurricular activities
• Work experience: not compulsory for freshers, but it can improve the application rating
• Final merit: prepared from NCAT score, GD/PI performance and application rating, with no published single cut-off score

NICMAR does not use CAT, XAT, MAT or GMAT as a replacement for NCAT for MBA admission. NCAT is the accepted test for all postgraduate programmes at NICMAR University.

B.Tech Civil Engineering Admission

For B.Tech Civil Engineering, students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and at least 45% aggregate marks. Selection is based on JEE Main score or CUET UG rank. Shortlisted students then attend NICMAR counselling for seat allotment.

B.Arch Admission

B.Arch applicants must have 10+2 with Mathematics and 50% aggregate marks. Admission is through a valid NATA score or JEE Paper 2 rank, followed by NICMAR counselling. The B.Arch programme is linked with the university’s Urban Planning and Design school and uses NICMAR’s construction industry network.

BBA, Integrated MBA, and Ph.D Admission

BBA admission is based on CUET UG scores or direct merit-based applications. The five-year Integrated BBA+MBA gives students a route into the MBA stream without a separate NCAT requirement at the postgraduate stage. For Ph.D admission, applicants need a master degree and either NET or GATE score, or they must qualify through NICMAR’s Research Aptitude Test.

NICMAR University Placements

NICMAR University reported strong placement results in 2025. The highest domestic salary stood at INR 25.09 LPA, and the highest international salary was INR 30 LPA. The average package was INR 9.25 LPA. In total, 737 students were placed, with a reported placement rate of 99%. More than 200 organisations hired from the university. MBA ACM students received an average package of INR 8.18 LPA, and the highest domestic offers were mainly from EPC, infrastructure and real estate consulting roles.

The university’s placement network is built mainly around the construction industry. Recruiters from the core construction and infrastructure sector include L&T Group, UltraTech Cement, Reliance Industries, Tata Steel, Adani Group, Voltas International, Jacobs and ExxonMobil. Consulting and advisory recruiters include Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst and Young, and PwC. HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and Goldman Sachs recruit for real estate finance roles. International placements mainly come from the Gulf and South-East Asian construction markets, where the highest packages fall in the INR 27 to 30 LPA range.

NICMAR University Rankings

NICMAR University was ranked #158 out of 350 MBA institutes in India and #21 in Pune in 2026. In the IIRF 2025 rankings, it was placed at #38 out of 122 private MBA institutes in India. The university also holds NAAC A+ accreditation, the highest NAAC grade, showing its performance in teaching, research and governance.

NICMAR is not listed in the NIRF Management ranked list. Its main academic area is specialised postgraduate management in construction, infrastructure and real estate, which does not fully match the general management ranking method used by NIRF. The university participates in NIRF, but its domain-focused programmes place it outside the standard NIRF Management group.

NICMAR University Campus and Infrastructure

NICMAR University’s Pune campus is at 25/1, Balewadi, NIA Post Office, Pune 411045. It is the university’s oldest and largest campus, with capacity for 1,367 students. The campus is supported by 66+ faculty members and scholars and 159 support staff. Its IGBC Platinum Green Campus certification reflects work in sustainable design, energy management and waste reduction.

The central library has more than 20,021 books and bound volumes, including research theses, and subscribes to 2,264 journal volumes. The campus provides separate hostels for male and female students. Practical learning is supported through specialised simulation labs for construction project management, BIM (Building Information Modelling) and urban planning studios. Through construction industry partnerships, students get access to live project site visits and internships during the two-year MBA programme. NICMAR has more than 34,000 alumni worldwide and has placed over 12,000 professionals since its start in 1983.

NICMAR University Scholarships

NICMAR University has three main scholarship schemes for postgraduate students. Reserved category students can also apply for eligible state and central government scholarships.

Students from SC, ST, OBC and PwD categories may apply for relevant central government scholarships, including schemes available through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The scholarship amount and rules for continuation are mentioned in the admission offer letter given to each selected student.

NICMAR University vs RICS School of Built Environment vs CEPT University

Students planning careers in construction management, real estate and the built environment often compare NICMAR University with RICS School of Built Environment (RICS SBE) and CEPT University, Ahmedabad. These three institutions work in related areas of infrastructure, planning and design, but their academic focus is different.

NICMAR is stronger for construction and project management placements, especially in EPC, infrastructure and real estate jobs. RICS SBE gives students a pathway to global RICS professional membership, which helps students interested in international real estate and quantity surveying careers. CEPT University is better suited for architecture, urban design and planning students, and its programmes do not directly match NICMAR’s management-focused courses.
