MCA Admission process

• MCA course takes place through its admission process based on merit as well as through entrance examination. Both the procedures are different from each other.
• Entrance exams are conducted at the state and national levels and other than that, some private universities also take their own entrance examinations at the university level.
• On the other hand, admission to the course is granted solely on the basis of the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination. Some institutions may create a cutoff list for admission based on the qualifying exams.
• Students who are about to complete their graduation can apply for MCA.

MCA Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the standards listed below in order to get admission to MCA.

• Students who have completed their graduation in any field are eligible to pursue an MCA.
• Applicants must have math as a compulsory subject in 10+2 or in any one year of graduation.
• It is required in Delhi University that the applicant must have scored 60% aggregate in the qualifying exam.

• Applicants must have scored 50% aggregate marks in bachelor’s degree at UG level.

MCA Admission: Merit base

If a student wants to take direct admission on a merit basis, he/she has to follow these steps:

• Candidates need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the university and then they are required to fill the application form on the respective websites of colleges.
• Colleges will declare a merit list (cut off based) on their official website so that students who wish to pursue MCA can keep themselves updated with the list.
• Applicant’s admission is based on his or her 10+2 grades or bachelor’s degree.
• Then students can visit their respective campuses to fulfill their other formalities.
• Other than this, students can reserve their seats in the MCA program through management quota in which seats will be already reserved and such students have to pay more than other students who will be taking admission without management quota.

MCA Entrance examination

To get admission in the MCA program students have to give an entrance exam and they will be shortlisted based on the scores that they’d obtained in their entrance examination. There is always tough competition in such examinations and to get the best results students have to practice mock test papers again and again or at least 10-12 times before appearing in a real examination.
