The KCET counselling 2026 process will be conducted online and includes the following steps:
STEP 1 - Document Verification and KCET Registration
All those who have qualified KCET 2026, need to report to the nearest KCET counselling centre with the necessary documents for verification. If your documents are found to be correct, you will be provided with a slip bearing a unique ID and password. You are advised to carefully review the slip before leaving the helpline centre as no changes will be made after.

STEP 2 - Choice Filling
Once your documents have been verified, you can log in to the candidate portal on KCET official website using the unique ID and password provided to select the course and college of your preference.
STEP 3 - Mock Seat Allotment
Based on your preference and merit, a provisional seat will be allotted to you. During the mock seat allotment process in KCET, you can modify your options by adding/deleting new colleges, rearranging preferences, etc. The last saved option will be used for the final seat allotment.
STEP 4 - Final Seat Allotment Result
Once a seat has been allotted, you can opt for any of the following 4 options:
Note: The same process from step 2 - 4 will be repeated in further rounds of counselling, i.e. Round 2 and Vacancy Round. However, post vacancy round seat allotment list, no modifications will be made. You will have to take admission in the allotted college and course.
STEP 5 - Reporting
You need to report to the allotted institute on the specified date for document verification and admission formalities.
In such a case, if no seat has been allotted to you, you can wait for the second round of KCET counselling, fill your preference.
