Karnataka Examinations Authority has released the KCET 2024 second extended round final seat allotment on October 9, 2024. You can check the allotment status with your CET number on the official website cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates must pay the fee, download the allotment order, and report to the allotted college by October 15, 2024 (5.30 PM). 

The provisional allotment result was out on October 7, 2024. If you have any objections regarding the allotment, mail them to keauthority-ka@nic.in by October 8, 2024 (11 AM). The final seat allotment was delayed because due to technical issues, around 140 choice 2 fee-paid candidates were not added to the provisional seat allotment. The final seat allotment result was scheduled to be released on October 8, 2024, after considering the objections. 

• KCET 2024 round 1 and round 2 final seat allotment result out on August 30 and September 22, 2024. 

Once you have the final allotment, you get four choices. Choice 1 is when you are satisfied with the allotment, so you accept and report to the allotted college. You select Choice 2 if you are satisfied with the allotment but participate in the next round for higher options. If you are not satisfied with the allotment, you get the opportunity to participate in the next round by surrendering the allotted seat and re-ordering the other options in Choice 3. Lastly, for Choice 4, the candidate is not satisfied with the allotment and chooses to withdraw from the counselling process.

Earlier, KCET round 2 mock seat allotment was released on August 25, 2024. Candidates can check the allotment status on the official website cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea using the CET application number. You will be allotted seats based on your KCET rank, choice filling and seat availability. You can modify the options by August 27, 2024. Then, KCET 2024 first round allotment result will be released on September 1, 2024. 

KCET mock allotment is done after web options entry during each round of KCET counselling 2024. You can modify the allotted seat before final seat allotment. Once you are satisfied with the seat, you will need to pay the KCET seat acceptance fees and report to the allotted college for document verification.

1. Visit the official KEA website cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea
2. Navigate to the ‘KCET seat allotment’ link
3. Enter your unique ID and click on submit. 
4. KCET seat allotment list will be displayed on the screen. 
5. Download and proceed with further specified process. 

KCET Seat Allotment 2024: Important Points 

Some important points related to KCET seat allotment are mentioned below: 

• Seat allotment is the last step of the counselling process.
• KCET seat allotment will be done in 2 rounds followed by extended or vacancy rounds if seats remain.
• KCET seat allotment will be done on the basis of merit, choices filled and availability of seats. 
• You can choose to accept or decline a seat allotted as well as exercise other options as described in the article below. 

What is Mock Allotment in KCET 2024?

During each round of counselling, KCET mock allotment is done which is as follows: 

• Before final allotment, KEA will release KCET mock allotment results after choice filling is done. 
• Mock allotment is not final and is done to give an idea of the course and colleges you can get. 
• You will be able to modify, add, delete or change preference during mock seat allotment. 
• Once that is done, the final KCET seat allotment is released. 

Note: You are not required to report to the institute after mock seat allotment is done. 

KCET Seat Allotment 2024 Options 

Once a seat has been allotted, you can opt for any of the following 4 options: 

• Choice 1: If you are satisfied with the seat, download the allotment letter, report to the respective college and pay the tuition fees. 
• Choice 2: If you are satisfied with the seat but want to keep it on hold to pursue a higher/ more preferred seat in the second round of counselling. In such a case if you get a better seat, you will automatically be upgraded otherwise your last allotted seat in round 1 will still be available. 

Note: If you exercise choice 2, you should not pay the tuition fees of the seat allotted in round 1 nor download the allotment letter or report to the college as the allotment will be cancelled if you get a better seat in round 2. 

• Choice 3: If you are not satisfied with the seat and wish to participate in the 2nd round without withholding the seat. In such a case, the allotted seat in round 1 will stand cancelled. 
• Choice 4: If you are not interested in the KCET counselling process and wish to exit, you will not be considered for further rounds and have no claim on the seat allotment. 

Note: The same process from step 2 - 4 will be repeated in further rounds of counselling, i.e Round 2 and Vacancy Round. However, post vacancy round seat allotment list, no modifications will be made. You will have to take admission in the allotted college and course. 

KCET Seat Allotment 2024

As stated before, seats will be allotted based on preference, merit and availability, the following will show the process to follow after each counselling round: 

KCET Round 1 Seat Allotment 

Auto upgradation is followed in KCET counselling, if you have not accepted or rejected the seat. So, if you have been allotted a seat in the second round after getting a seat in first round, the seat of round 1 will automatically get cancelled. 

KCET Round 2 Seat Allotment 

Same process as round 1 is followed. In case there are seats that are vacant under Rural and Kannada Medium quota reserved categories, then these will be converted to general reserved category seats. 

KCET Round 3 Seat Allotment (Extended 2nd Round)

In this round, after allotment to reserved categories, all the vacant seats under general reserved category and special reserved category seats will be converted to general category seats. 

KCET Special Round Seat Allotment 

KCET special round is never fixed. If all seats are filled in the previous round, it will not take place.
