NEET SS 2026 Result Date

A result or counselling notice issued during calendar year 2026 may still belong to the NEET-SS 2025 admission cycle. The examination year, rather than the date on which a notice appears, identifies which score can be used for admission.

The special stray counselling schedule for the 2025 cycle listed reporting from 1 to 6 October 2026. Those admissions do not use the result of the December 2026 examination.

How to Check the Result and Download the Scorecard

The group-wise result list and personal scorecard are separate documents. The result list lets you locate your examination record and group rank; the scorecard is the individual document used during admission. In the 2025 cycle, NBEMS declared the result first and announced scorecard access from a later date.

1. Open the NEET-SS examination section on the NBEMS website, natboard.edu.in, and select the notice for the correct exam year.
2. Open the result list and locate your roll number or application ID. Match the question-paper group before reading the score and rank.
3. When individual scorecards are released, use the candidate login with your User ID and password.
4. Save the scorecard and check your identity, group, score and rank against the result record.

The 2025 scorecard download window was limited to six months after upload. NBEMS did not offer individual scorecards by post or email. Do not assume that an old download link remains active simply because a later counselling round is taking place.

NEET SS 2025 Cutoff: Original and Revised Scores

The 2025 qualifying threshold was reduced from the 50th percentile to the 30th percentile on 22 September 2026. All scores below are out of 600. They are historical qualifying cutoffs, not predicted NEET SS 2026 cutoffs or college closing ranks.

For example, a Medical Group score of 200 was below the original cutoff of 225 but above the revised cutoff of 175. The reduction changed qualifying status; it did not raise the score or improve the candidate's group rank. NBEMS specifically confirmed that ranks remained unchanged and no fresh scorecards would be issued.

Marks, Percentile and Group Rank

Raw marks measure answers scored in the paper. A qualifying percentile places a candidate within that group's score distribution. The group rank orders candidates for the courses covered by that paper, subject to the relevant feeder qualification. These measures cannot be used interchangeably.

The 2025 merit scheme used marks and tie-breakers, with no equating, scaling or normalization. Equal scores in two different groups therefore do not establish equal admission chances. Even within one group, a course must accept the candidate's postgraduate specialty as a feeder.

NEET SS Tie-Breaking Rules

For candidates with the same score in a group, the 2025 rules applied these criteria in order until the tie was resolved:

1. Fewer incorrect answers across the entire paper.
2. Fewer incorrect answers in Section A.
3. Fewer incorrect answers in Section B.
4. Fewer incorrect answers in Section C.
5. Higher aggregate MBBS professional-examination percentage; FMGE percentage instead for Indian citizens/OCI with a primary medical qualification from outside India.
6. Older candidate.

The MBBS aggregate was entered as a percentage rounded down to two decimals. For instance, 421 marks out of 600 gives 70.1666%, entered as 70.16%, not 70.17%. NBEMS said that aggregates used to resolve ties would be checked against original documents at admission; incorrect information used for a tie-break could cancel candidature.

After the Result: Counselling and Admission

A qualifying result does not allot a seat. MCC conducts the national counselling process for participating DM courses, MCh courses and DrNB super-specialty courses. Candidates register separately, pay counselling charges, submit eligible course/institute choices, and complete reporting after allotment.

Course eligibility remains important after qualifying. A candidate can choose only those super-specialties for which their qualification is an accepted feeder, even when other courses share the same paper group.

The security deposit was refundable only under the counselling rules. It could be forfeited for not joining an allotted seat or for incorrect information leading to cancellation. The examination application fee was a separate payment.

The NEET-SS 2025 result was valid only for the 2025-26 admission session. Counselling extending into 2026 did not make that score valid for the next admission cycle.
