NEET SS 2026 Registration Dates

NEET SS 2026 registration has not opened. NBEMS has published a tentative examination schedule with a qualification cutoff, but no application start date or deadline.

The 31 January 2027 cutoff concerns completion of the prior-entry medical qualification. It is not the last date to fill the form. The exam itself is scheduled earlier, in December 2026.

Who Can Apply and Which Paper Should You Choose?

The application rules below are from the 2025 cycle. The 2026 qualification deadline is listed separately because NBEMS has already included it in the tentative schedule.

The qualifying route requires a recognized MD, MS, DNB or equivalent postgraduate medical qualification that is an accepted feeder for the intended super-specialty. An MBBS degree alone is not the entry route. Candidates completing the qualifying course by the applicable deadline may apply, but admission still requires proof of completion.

Indian candidates need NMC or State Medical Council registration. Foreign nationals, including OCI candidates, had a separate 2025 provision: they could appear without Indian medical registration, while temporary registration for the admitted course depended on recognized qualifications and registration in the country where the qualification was obtained.

Match the course first, then the paper

These are selected route examples, not the full feeder list. A Paediatrics candidate aiming for Endocrinology took the Medical Group paper, not the Paediatric paper. Similarly, General Surgery candidates seeking Head and Neck Surgery took the ENT paper. Choosing a group only because its name resembles your degree can therefore be wrong.

You may select more than one group when your qualification is an eligible feeder for the intended courses. The DM courses and MCh courses course directories describe the degree families; the course-specific feeder and paper pairing determines the application route.

NEET SS Application Fee

The 2025 examination fee was INR 3,500 per question-paper group. Selecting multiple eligible groups increased the fee by the same amount for each group; payment-gateway charges were additional.

The exam fee was non-refundable for withdrawal, absence or ineligibility and could not be carried forward. A duplicate payment against the same application ID was a different case: NBEMS said excess fees received would be refunded after the application window closed, retaining the prescribed fee.

How to Fill the NEET SS Application Form

The 2025 form used a new-user registration followed by an applicant login. The same login allowed the form to be completed across more than one sitting during the application window.

1. Create the applicant profile with your name as it appears on the postgraduate qualification certificate. Verify the email address through OTP.
2. Log in with the generated User ID and password. Enter identity, MBBS, postgraduate qualification and medical-registration details.
3. Select the eligible question-paper group or groups for your intended super-specialty courses.
4. Capture the live photograph and upload the recent photograph, signature and left-thumb impression.
5. Choose a test city from the available seats and pay through the form's payment gateway.
6. Check that the payment status shows successful, preview the complete form, accept the declaration and submit. Retain the final application copy.

A bank debit alone was not proof of successful submission. The 2025 form required payment status "S", followed by the final declaration and submission. If payment remained pending, the application was not complete.

Test-city selection was based on available seats. The city selected in the form was not the examination venue address; NBEMS allotted the centre and disclosed it through the admit card.

Photograph, Signature and Thumb-Impression Requirements

The 2025 upload instructions required both a live camera photograph and a separate recent photograph. A selfie, an old photograph, a blurred image or a large mismatch between the two photographs could lead to rejection.

The signature instructions used different size limits for a camera image and a scanned image. Keeping those methods separate avoids the common mistake of quoting one file-size range for every upload. The signature must be your full signature, not initials; the thumb impression must show clear ridges without smudging.

NEET SS Application Correction

The 2025 cycle had an ordinary edit window for candidates who had paid the examination fee, followed by a selective final window for deficient images. These were not interchangeable opportunities.

A name error after submission could not be fixed through the correction window. NBEMS did not manually change application information on request. The 2025 bulletin allowed correction of other fields during the ordinary window; the selective image window was not a second chance to revise qualifications or paper choices.

Enter MBBS Marks Accurately

The MBBS aggregate was part of the tie-break system, so an apparently small rounding error could matter. Add marks across all MBBS professional examinations, calculate the aggregate percentage and round down to two decimal places. With 421 out of 600, enter 70.16 rather than 70.17.

For Indian citizens and OCI candidates with a primary medical qualification obtained outside India, the 2025 tie rule used FMGE percentage instead of the MBBS aggregate. NBEMS could show the declared aggregate on the scorecard when it was used to resolve a tie; admission authorities then checked the original documents.
