Admission Process Overview
1. UGC-JRF and Foreign Nationals
- Candidates in these categories are exempted from the AILET 2025 entrance test.
- Selection involves the appraisal of research proposals and interviewing/viva-voce.
- A minimum score of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/differently abled candidates) at every stage.
2. AILET Merit-Based Admission
- This category comes in a two-step process: Written entrance test and Evaluation of the research proposal and interview
- Weightage distribution: 70% for the entrance test and 30% for the proposal/interview.
- Candidates need to secure a minimum of 50% (45% for the reserved categories) in both stages.

Guidelines for Writing the Research Proposal
- Introduction: Contextual background and analytical perspective.

Final Selection and Seat Allocation
The Doctoral Committee will make recommendations for approval by the Vice-Chancellor. NLU Delhi retains the right to keep the seats vacant in case not-so-worthy candidates are identified.
