KISS Achieves 100% Pass Rate in CHSE Class 12 Exams Bhubaneswar

In a significant achievement, all 1,885 students from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) who appeared in the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE)-conducted Class 12 examination have passed. This has marked a 100% success rate across the Science, Arts, and Commerce streams. The results were announced and Girls have outshone boys in the results.

Among the students, 38% secured first division marks. Breaking it down by stream, 41% of Commerce students, 40% of Science students, and 33% of Arts students achieved first division marks.

Hiramani Mallick topped the Arts stream at the college with a score of 88%. However,  Libu Sardar topped with 80% marks in the Science stream and Shankar Bhumij secured 87% marks has topped the Commerce stream at the college. Seventy-five students from various PVTG groups also excelled in the  Arts, Science, and Commerce streams.

The institute has also played a vital role in providing quality education and opportunities for success.


Cesar Reyes & G L Dholakia Conferred the KISS Lifetime Achievement Award

On Friday, the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University celebrated its 20th anniversary by bestowing the KISS Lifetime Achievement Award to two recipients - Former Vice President of Guatemala, Cesar Guillermo Castillo Reyes, and Founder-Chairman of Sri Ramakrishna Export Private Limited, Mr. Govindbhai Laljibhai Dholakia.

Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda was unable to attend the 20th anniversary celebrations at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University due to health issues, but he sent a message wishing the students success in their lives.

he KISS Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, at a ceremony attended by KISS Pro-Chancellor Prof. Amareswar Galla and KISS Vice Chancellor Prof. Deepak Kumar Behera.

Former Vice President Castillo Reyes and Mr. Dholakia received the honors in recognition of their extraordinary contributions to social service, leadership, and philanthropy. Dr. Samanta praised the recipients for their impactful work to uplift others through their service, visionary leadership, and generous philanthropy over the years.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Dholakia expressed awe at seeing such a massive gathering of students and faculty for the first time. He praised the students for having the blessing to study at KISS and lauded Dr. Samanta's efforts in making such an influential institution possible.

Dholakia compared meeting Dr. Samanta to encountering a second Mahatma Gandhi, emphasizing the importance of having visionary individuals like Dr. Samanta who create impactful institutions like KISS that provide education to countless students.

In his remarks, Dr. Reyes stressed the need for more leaders like Dr. Samanta, suggesting that with such dedicated people, it would be possible to establish more educational institutions like KISS that significantly contribute to teaching students. He advised the students to dream big and strive for excellence in their endeavors.


CII Sports Business Awards 2023 to KIIT

The “Best Sports Facility” award has gone to KIIT University in the first edition of CII Sports Business Awards 2023.

First CII Sports Business Awards 2023 honoured Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT). The award, on behalf of the institution, was received by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder KIIT & KISS. The award was presented by Chanakya Chaudhry, Chairman of CII National Committee on Sports.

The award for “Best Sports Facility” was given to KIIT in light of its efforts in creating outstanding sports facilities within India. On this occasion, several recognitions were awarded that included a Best Sport Business Leader award given to Jay Shah, Honorary Secretary, BCCI and President, Asian Cricket Council. Sports Business Leaders award given for exceptional leadership shown in Sports Business was awarded to Neeta Ambani, Chairperson & Founder of Reliance Foundation and Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS.

CII Sports Business Awards 2023 to KIIT

“Sports Franchise of the Year” award went to Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the title of “Best State promoting Sports” went to Tamil Nadu.

The jury for CII Sports Business Awards 2023 had an esteemed panel of judges from the world of sports along with national and international leaders. The jury was comprised of Abhinav Bindra; Michelle Wade, Commissioner to South Asia, State Govt. of Victoria, Australia; Abhishek Binaykia, Partner, Transformation, Head of Technology Center of Excellence and Head of Sports Advisory, Grant Thornton Bharat; Nic Coward, Expert Partner, Portas Consulting and Aahna Mehotra, Partner TMT Law Practice.

KIIT has been honoured with several sports awards like Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Purushkar 2022 by Government of India, FICCI India Sports Awards by FICCI, Sports Star Aces Award 2022 by The Hindu, along with Biju Patnaik Sports Award 2019 for ‘Best Contribution for promotion of sports and games’ by Govt. of Odisha.


Balasore Train Accident: KIIT Provides Job & Education to Victims’ Families from Odisha

The KIIT Deemed-to-be-University in Odisha has extended employment opportunities and free education to the families of those who tragically lost their lives in the Bhanaga, Balasore train incident.

On 5 November, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the Founder of KIIT and KISS, personally met with candidates, providing them with employment offers. Out of the 20 candidates, two children from separate families chose to pursue higher education at KIIT, and they are currently enrolled in academic programs at the university.

KIIT Provides Job & Education to Victims’ Families from Odisha

The Founder had previously declared his commitment to aiding the families of the victims. He pledged to offer employment opportunities to one eligible family member at KIIT and KISS and provide free education, from elementary to higher levels, to their children, also based on eligibility. The official procedures were carried out by the KIIT administration. The grateful family members expressed their appreciation to Dr. Samanta for his invaluable support during this critical time.


Solar Energy Society of India Honours Achyuta Samanta

Solar World Congress which is currently holding a session in New Delhi bestowed an Honour to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS. This felicitation was carried out under the aegis of the Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) and Dr. Samanta was awarded this honour for his efforts in promoting eco-friendly initiatives and harvesting solar power at the campuses of KIIT and KISS. Solar power harvesting is done to carry out day-to-day operations at the KIIT and KISS campuses.

Dr. Samanta was felicitated by Praful Pathak, President SESI while Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, Director General of IMD was also present in the ceremony. Dr. Samanta has played a vital role in using renewable energy sources, promoting education among indigenous children and green initiatives at KIIT-KISS campuses. His contributions and efforts were applauded by the organisers at the Solar World Congress on the occasion of his felicitation.

KISS has been a pioneer institution in the environment-friendly category. It has been awarded the Energy Globe Award by Energy Globe Foundation in a ceremony conducted in Tehran, Iran in 2018.

On this occasion, Dr. Pathak said, “Dr. Samanta’s unwavering dedication to create awareness and implementing green energy technologies has had a profound impact on our community and the environment at large.”

Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) came up with a statement at Solar World Congress that underlined and appreciated Dr. Samanta’s role in developing a sustainable future for planet along with his green initiatives. SESI said that his work was a source of inspiration for everyone looking to secure sustainability in Earth’s future.

Delhi Solar World Congress was organised by the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and the events were held across a span of 6 days beginning from October 30. This World Congress registered the presence of delegates belonging to more than 50 countries. These delegates represented various fields like Architecture, Engineering, Industries and Scientific Research and their goal was to develop a strategy for a sustainable future.
