NIT Agartala released a notification on November 18, 2024, inviting applications for PhD Admissions 2025 in multiple domains. The last date to apply online is December 2, 2024.

The candidates can apply online on the NIT Agartala admission portal.

The selection will be based on the entrance test followed by the personal interview.

NIT Agartala PhD Admission Eligibility Criteria

• A candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology, or an equivalent field, with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks, to be eligible for PhD in Engineering.
• Applicants must possess a Master's degree in the Sciences or other relevant subject with a minimum of 65% marks (6.5 CGPA) or 60% of marks (6.0 CGPA) with a GATE / NET score and are eligible for PhD in Science or other departments. Preference will be given to GATE / NET-qualified candidates.
• Applicants possessing a 4-year Bachelor’s degree (/B.Tech. / B.Pharm, etc.) from a recognized University with a 75% or 7.5 CGPA and a valid GATE / NET scorecard are eligible for the PhD program.
• Institute Employees / Research Scholars are eligible under the PhD part-time category with a minimum of 65% marks (6.5 CGPA) in a Master’s degree, however, the GATE / CSIR or any other national-level test score is not required.
• Foreign nationals can only register as regular full-time scholars, with degrees from Indian or foreign Universities and must have a minimum of 65% marks (6.5 CGPA) in a Master’s degree. In addition, they should have a valid GMAT / GATE / IELTS or equivalent examination score.

Note: A relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CGPA is provided for SC / ST / PwD candidates.

Documents Required for NIT Agartala PhD Admission 2025

• Date of birth proof.
• Photo ID proof.
• All semesters mark sheets of Bachelor's and Master’s degree.
• Pass Certificate of Master's Degree.
• GATE / NET etc. score card (if applicable).
• Migration and Character Certificate issued by the Institution last attended (mandatory during provisional admission).
• Recent color photograph (strictly formal photograph, preferably white / sky blue background).
• Proof of publication.
• SC / ST /PwD / OBC-NCL / EWS certificate (if and whichever is applicable).
• Full-time Sponsored and Part-time Candidates including Institute Staff must submit Sponsorship and No- Objection Certificates.
