IIT Palakkad has announced admissions for January 2025 intake into their MS (by Research) and PhD programs, through an advertisement released on October 5, 2024. The institute will conduct online interviews for shortlisted candidates from December 1 to 13.

Candidates should regularly check the institute's official website for important announcements and results. Any changes to the scheduled dates will be communicated exclusively through the official website of IIT Palakkad.

IIT Palakkad MS / PhD Application Process

• Please read the admission brochure instructions carefully before filling out the application form.
• The online application form is available on the Institute website. After filling out the form, please take a printout and keep it for records.
• OBC-NCL / EWS certificates in an appropriate format as per the Government of India, issued/signed by the Competent Authority must be uploaded with the ONLINE application and the original shall be submitted at the time of admission. The certificate must be issued on or after the 1st of April, 2024.

IITP Admission Eligibility

The course-wise eligibility is given below

MS (by Research)

• Four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Sciences or Master's degree in sciences.
• Valid GATE score in a relevant discipline.
• Memberships in professional bodies approved by MoE/UGC/AICTE.
• Passed both part A and part B of membership examinations.
• Four-year Bachelor's degree from a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI).
• Minimum CGPA:
  • 8.0 (General)
  • 7.5 (OBC-NCL)
  • 7.0 (SC/ST/PwD)

PhD

• Master's in Engineering/Technology/Sciences
• Valid GATE/UGC/CSIR-LS & JRF/NBHM
• Bachelor's with exceptional record & valid GATE (CGPA 8+)

IIT Palakkad MS / PhD Course Fee

Hostel rooms are allotted only on a shared, first come first serve basis, subject to availability. If the candidate wishes to be a day scholar, he/she should register his or her name in the Office of the Dean of Students and obtain a day scholar certificate immediately after the admission.

Refund Policy; If a candidate withdraws his/her admission before the official joining, the amount paid by him/her will be refunded after deducting the administrative charges of Rs.2,000/-. Once the student is admitted, only the caution deposits will be refunded.
