In a major breakthrough in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) UG 2025 case, the Delhi High Court has ordered the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to release the corrected results and scorecards within four weeks. The order follows several petitions pointing out errors in the question paper and answer key published earlier.
Court Comments on CLAT UG 2025 Mistakes
On April 9, 2025, Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela-led division bench adjudicated a series of petitions brought forward by various petitioners showcasing supposed mistakes made in the CLAT UG 2025 question paper as well as its answer key. The court made a point of underlining the imperative of answering these issues promptly owing to their direct bearing on national law school undergraduate admissions.
The High Court specially noted a past single-judge order which discovered that two questions in the CLAT UG 2025 test had faulty answer keys. Overlooking these errors, the court noted, would have constituted a serious injustice to students who had properly attempted the questions.
High Court's Directive
The bench instructed the Consortium of NLUs to consider genuine objections filed within the window of objections and to ignore objections filed late. The order issued by the court read:
"We have accepted some objections filed by the candidates and some objections have been rejected. Those who have objected beyond the window period we have rejected. Considering the above, we order the respondents (consortium of NLUs) to revalidate the marksheet and renotify the final list of candidates within four weeks."
