CLAT 2027 Marks Calculation

For example, 80 correct and 24 wrong answers give 74 raw marks: 80 - (24 x 0.25). The 16 remaining questions carry no marks. This is a worked example, not a marks-to-rank formula.

A final answer-key change can affect which responses count as correct or which questions are evaluated. Calculate against the applicable key and paper set, then use the issued scorecard for the official result.

CLAT 2027 Scorecard and Admission

Use the 2027 candidate account and the result facility announced for that cycle. The result download is separate from the admit card and application receipt. The previous cycle provided account access and a mirror result facility; a 2026 scorecard cannot be used as the new result.

Check the candidate identity, programme, marks and reported rank on the issued scorecard. UG and PG rank different candidate groups. For equal totals, UG first compares Legal Aptitude marks, then age, then a draw; PG uses age and then a draw.

For admission, use the declared rank alongside the relevant NLU, programme, category and round. The 2027 FAQ places counselling in December 2026/January 2027, while the university checks the qualifying result and category documents.

CLAT 2026 Result Highlights

The notice reports 57% female and 43% male attendance, with nine transgender candidates also recorded. These are participation statistics. The 96.01% attendance figure is not a pass percentage or a proportion admitted to NLUs.

The highest score is also not a college cutoff. It describes the top performance in the examination rather than the last rank allotted a particular category of seat.

2026 Reference: Why the Evaluated Maximum Was 119

The PG result notice also records three answer modifications. A calculation using an early provisional key can therefore differ even when all the response counts were entered correctly.

The ordinary calculation is one mark for a correct answer and a quarter-mark deduction for a wrong answer, with zero for an unanswered question. Withdrawn items are handled under the final decision; they are not automatically counted as extra correct answers.

A result comparison should retain its denominator. For example, 90/119 is a different marks percentage from 90/120. Neither fraction reveals the number of candidates above that score.

CLAT 2026 Paper Distribution

These are the counts in the 2026 paper. Approximate subject ranges in a syllabus are not a substitute for the actual paper distribution. Nor should the one-question withdrawal be assigned to a section without the relevant final-key evidence.

2026 Reference: Rank, Cutoff and Admission After the Result

A marks-to-rank prediction cannot replace the official scorecard. Once a result exists, use the declared rank for admission comparisons and keep the NLU, programme, category and counselling round attached to every cutoff.

Admission records may also require the qualifying marksheet and category or domicile evidence. Keep those with the CLAT application, admit card, scorecard and payment records. An examination rank cannot repair a missing qualification or an unsupported reservation claim.
