NLSIU CLAT 2026 Fifth-list Reference

The fifth list includes candidates provisionally admitted in earlier rounds as well as current allocations. AIR 120 is the last General row without a starred horizontal-allocation condition in this selected comparison. Rows allocated under Karnataka or another horizontal reservation must not be added to that open-seat pool.

This is a selected NLSIU reference, not an all-NLU 2026 cutoff table. The older NLSIU and Jodhpur comparisons below use 2025 round-three data and cannot be treated as a same-round year-on-year trend.

A 2027 applicant may use these ranks to understand how seat categories differ, but seat numbers, candidate choices and rank distribution can change. No guaranteed admission range is calculated from this limited comparison.

CLAT 2025 Selected Round 3 Closing Ranks

The comparison uses retained provisional allotments together with new third-list allotments. Vacated earlier rows are not treated as active seats. Horizontal allocation markers are excluded from the stated open-category comparison.

These figures are ranks, not marks. Lower numerical AIR is a higher merit position. No fixed subtraction from a rank gives an equivalent score, because the complete score distribution is needed.

2025 Reference: Why NLSIU 112 and 460 Describe Different Seats

NLSIU’s third list shows a new allotment at AIR 460 in the KA-Students category. That is not the General all-India closing rank. The retained General row at AIR 112 belongs to a different seat scope.

The same list also contains General candidates with PwD allocation markers at substantially higher numerical ranks. The word General alone therefore cannot settle which cutoff applies. Read the vertical category, horizontal condition and footnote together.

2025 Reference: NLU Jodhpur: Open and Rajasthan Allotments

Jodhpur’s UG third list includes a new General allotment at AIR 581 marked GC-RJ with an allocation star. It is a Rajasthan horizontal allotment, not evidence that the unqualified General closing AIR was 581. The comparable General rank without horizontal-seat allocation was 367.

A candidate may have a state-category label without being allotted on that horizontal basis. The list’s footnote says the star identifies the horizontal reservation used for allocation. Reading only the label or deleting the marker changes the meaning.

The OBC, EWS, SC and ST comparisons in the table similarly retain the stated seat scope. They do not combine every domicile or disability row into a single category maximum.

2025 Reference: UG and PG Cutoffs Are Separate

The UG rank concerns an undergraduate law programme; PG concerns LLM admission and a different examination population. AIR 500 in PG is not equivalent to AIR 500 in UG.

The BA LLB and LLM routes also require different qualifying education. Match the programme before deciding whether a historical rank table is relevant.

2025 Reference: How to Use a Historical Cutoff

1. Choose the exact programme and admission year.
2. Match vertical category and any horizontal eligibility.
3. Compare the same counselling round.
4. Exclude vacated rows and read allocation footnotes.
5. Treat the result as historical evidence, not an assured future seat.

A closing rank depends on the seats offered, eligible candidates and preferences in that process. Even a rank numerically better than last year’s closing rank does not remove the need to meet current eligibility, submit preferences and complete the current admission process.

For a meaningful year trend, repeat the same category and programme definition in every column. A 2024 open-seat rank beside a 2025 domicile rank is not a trend; it is a comparison of different seat pools.
