CLAT 2025 UG question papers for Sets A, B, C and D are available below with set-wise solutions. The exam was held on 1 December 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It had 120 multiple-choice questions worth one mark each, divided among English Language, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques.
The official UG question format gave candidates two hours for the paper. All four booklets contained the same questions, but their order changed from one set to another. A question number from one booklet should therefore be checked only against the answer key for that set.
Legal Reasoning was the largest section, with 32 questions. All questions in English Language, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and Legal Reasoning were included in the final evaluation. Five Logical Reasoning questions were withdrawn, leaving 19, and two Quantitative Techniques questions were withdrawn, leaving 10.

Each bar uses 32 questions, the size of the largest section, as the common scale.
English Language used four passages of six questions each. They came from George Orwell's Why I Write, Swami Vivekananda on education, R. K. Narayan's An Astrologer's Day, and J. Krishnamurti on understanding a child. The questions covered direct detail, vocabulary, purpose and inference.
Passage
Questions in Set A
What the questions covered
George Orwell, Why I Write
1-6
Writing motives, childhood influence and vocabulary
Swami Vivekananda on education
7-12
Purpose of education, concentration and meaning in context
R. K. Narayan, An Astrologer's Day
13-18
Setting, occupations, vocabulary and direct detail
J. Krishnamurti on education
19-24
Understanding the child, ideals, patience and inference
All 24 English questions counted in the final score. In Set A question 14, the An Astrologer's Day passage lists sellers of stolen hardware, so option D was represented in the passage. It mentions an auctioneer of cheap cloth, not auctioneers of cheap bags, which makes option C the correct response. The May revised key records the change from D to C; the same question appears under a different number in the other booklets.
CLAT 2025 Current Affairs and General Knowledge Topics
The 28-question section used five passages: the 16th BRICS Summit, Article 370, the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, Indian industrialists during the Civil Disobedience Movement, and the Paris Olympics 2024. The first three passages had six questions each; the last two had five each.
Some answers came directly from the passages, while others needed related knowledge about constitutional history, political representation, the national movement and Olympic records. None of the questions in this section was withdrawn.
CLAT 2025 Legal Reasoning Passages
Legal Reasoning had six passages and 32 questions. The passages covered children in the criminal justice system, constitutional duties towards the environment, contract law, Geographical Indications, the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, and privacy and personal-data protection.
No Legal Reasoning question was withdrawn. Set A question 62 asked whether the duty to protect natural resources lay with the State, citizens, or both. The Supreme Court's 7 May 2025 judgment found support for both option C, which placed the duty on the State and citizens, and option D, which referred to the State's ecological duty and citizens' right against climate change. The revised key therefore awards one mark for either C or D, not an extra mark for the question.
CLAT 2025 Logical Reasoning Questions
Logical Reasoning had four groups on homelessness, business consulting, a circular seating arrangement and the effect of smartphones on young people. Five questions were withdrawn: one from the homelessness group and four from the seating-arrangement group. This left 19 questions in the final evaluation.
The question numbers differ across the four booklets. Use the set-specific panel below when marking the paper instead of transferring a number from another set.
CLAT 2025 Quantitative Techniques Questions
Quantitative Techniques had two data sets with six questions each. The first used wages and gender-pay data for ratios and percentage comparisons. The second used a household budget in which house-rent allowance had to be added to salary before expenses and savings were calculated.
Set A questions 109 and 110 from the wages data set were withdrawn. Question 109 asked candidates to derive women's wages in Goa from a 61% wage gap and a hypothetical male wage of Rs 335. The Supreme Court found that the calculation required more mathematical analysis than was suitable for this objective test. Question 110 depended on that result, while its equivalents in Sets B, C and D also pointed to the wrong question number. The Court removed both wage questions across all four sets so every candidate was scored on the same total. The other 10 Quantitative Techniques questions remained in the final score.
CLAT 2025 Answer-Key Revision Timeline
The maximum score changed from 120 to 116 in December and from 116 to 113 in May. The court-order dates in the timeline explain why a revised final key appeared months after the first result process.

The revised final answer key withdrew one more Logical Reasoning question and two Quantitative Techniques questions. It also changed the treatment of one English and one Legal Reasoning answer.
The May notification made two answer changes. One English Language answer moved from option D to option C. One Legal Reasoning question began accepting either option C or option D. A separate Legal Reasoning challenge was considered but the accepted answer remained option C.
These changes are different from withdrawals. A revised answer can add or remove marks depending on the option a candidate chose. A withdrawn question is removed from both the candidate's score and the maximum score. The set-specific panels below list the affected question numbers for each booklet.
How to Calculate a CLAT 2025 Score After the Revision
First remove the seven withdrawn questions for the booklet being checked. Among the remaining 113 questions, award one mark for every correct answer, deduct 0.25 mark for every wrong answer and give no mark for an unanswered question.
Score = correct answers - (wrong answers × 0.25). For example, 80 correct, 20 wrong and 13 unanswered responses give 80 - 5 = 75 out of 113.
How the Revision Can Change a Raw Score
The same key revision can affect two candidates differently because their original responses may not match. The table shows the change in each common case.

A timed attempt should still use all 120 questions in 120 minutes. Apply the May 2025 exclusions only when marking the attempt. Because the four 2025 sets contain the same questions in a different order, another year from the CLAT previous-year question papers gives a genuinely different full paper.
Exclude the seven withdrawn questions for your set.
Apply the revised answers, including the C-or-D question.
Count correct, wrong and unanswered responses among the remaining 113.
Correct answers - (wrong answers × 0.25). Example: 80 correct, 20 wrong and 13 unanswered = 75 out of 113. Withdrawals do not earn bonus marks.

A school replaces one final project grade with feedback on a draft followed by a revised submission. The principal says the aim is to show what students can improve, not merely to classify their first attempt. The school still evaluates the final work and does not promise every revision a higher grade.

For this exercise, a community hall grants a refund only if cancellation is received at least 6 full days before the booking. A closure ordered by the hall itself receives a full refund regardless of notice. A booking cancelled because a guest changes plans is treated as a customer cancellation. Apply only these rules.

CLAT 2025 Question Paper FAQs
Downloads and Answer Review
Are Sets A-D four different mock tests?+
No. They are booklets from the same examination with material rearranged. Use another year for a fresh full-paper attempt; another 2025 set is useful for revision and matching the question order.
Can I use the key at the end of a downloaded booklet?+
Not without the final corrections. Those appended keys are older. Apply the 17 May 2025 withdrawal and accepted-answer decisions before calculating the historical UG score.
Why are question numbers different in the solutions?+
The solution articles use a reformatted order. Match the passage, question and options to your booklet. The set-wise official-key corrections refer to the original booklet numbers.
Does the short practice drill use CLAT negative marking?+
No. It reports correct, incorrect and unanswered responses with practice accuracy. Retry mistakes includes wrong and unanswered items; Restart set restores all three questions. Use the full-paper marking rule for a CLAT raw score.
Can this paper be used for CLAT PG preparation?+
It is an undergraduate paper. Its reading and reasoning tasks differ from the undergraduate-law subject knowledge tested by CLAT PG. Use the separate PG paper for that examination.
