The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is the responsible authority for conducting the CLAT 2025 counselling process. - The Undergraduate CLAT exam was conducted successfully on December 01, 2024.

Eligibility for CLAT 2025 Counselling
Candidates who qualified in CLAT 2025 examination will be eligible to participate in the CLAT 2025 counselling process. Colleges participating in the CLAT counselling process will release their respective cut-offs. Candidates have to meet the minimum cut-off criteria in order to take admission into desired colleges.
Steps in the CLAT 2025 Counselling Process
The CLAT 2025 Counselling process is divided into six steps which are mentioned below in detail:
1. Registration
The first process of CLAT 2025 counselling involves registration. Candidates can register with their log-in credentials for the CLAT exam. They are required to pay a specific amount (non-refundable) decided by the consortium in order to participate in the CLAT 2025 counselling process. Here are the details regarding the counselling fees mentioned below:
- For General category: INR 30,000 (Approx)
- For Reserved category: INR 20,000 (Approx)
2. Preference Filling
Once after the successful registration, candidates are required to fill their preference for NLUs based on the cut-offs released by individual colleges. Before opting for any NLUs under CLAT 2025 counselling, it is advisable to check the ranking, courses, accommodation, and placements of each NLUs.
3. Seat Allotment
The final allotment list released by the Consortium depends on various parameters such as:
- Candidate’s rank
- Category
- Preference
- Seat availability.
4. Seat Confirmation
Candidates participating in the CLAT 2025 counselling process will be further given three options even after the final seat allotment. The options are as follows:
- Confirmation of seat: Confirm the seat and proceed with admission.
- Upgradation: Candidates who are not satisfied with college offered during the first round of CLAT 2025 counselling process can further participate in other rounds. The participation and seat allotment in further rounds will be completely subjected to preference and seat availability.
- Exit the Counselling Process: Candidates can also withdraw from the counselling process entirely.
5. Document Verification
Candidates are required to bring important documents with them during the time of document verification. The following documents are as follows:

6. Final Payment

Ques: What is the refund policy for CLAT 2025 counselling fees?
Ans: Following are the options that a candidate is offered through CLAT 2025 counselling policy:
- Full Refund Policy: Candidates who participated in CLAT 2025 counseling but were not allotted a seat in any of the rounds for any reason will be subject to a full refund.
- Partial Refund Policy: Candidates who fail to confirm their seat and admission in the allotted college during the CLAT 2025 counseling session will get a refund after deducting Rs 5000 (approximately).
- No Refund Policy: If the candidate fails to take admission in the allotted college even after choosing the freeze or float option, he/she will not be eligible for refund.
