CLAT Registration Dates 2027

The closing date is for a submitted, paid application, not just a registered account. There is no separate later payment deadline in the published instructions. A saved draft or an OTP-verified account is not a completed application.

Choose CLAT UG or PG Before Filling the Form

Select UG for admission to a five-year integrated law course such as BA LLB. Select PG for LLM admission after an LLB or equivalent law qualification. An unrelated bachelor's degree does not make a candidate eligible for CLAT PG.

Both programmes have no upper age limit. Appearing candidates can apply under the 2027 qualifying-examination rules, but the required passing result must be produced at admission. The examination fee does not override the academic requirements.

How to Fill the CLAT Application Form

Use the CLAT 2027 application portal reached through consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The form is submitted online; the examination itself is offline.

1. Register with your personal mobile number and email address. Validate the OTP sent to that mobile number.
2. Log in using the registered mobile number and the password created during registration.
3. Choose UG or PG and enter personal, academic and category details. Match your name and your parents' names to the relevant certificates and identity records.
4. Complete the fields shown in the form and upload the photograph, signature and applicable certificates.
5. Review the programme, category and BPL claim before the payment step. Also check names and academic particulars.
6. Pay the application fee online and finish submission. Retain the application record and payment confirmation from the portal.

Keep access to the same mobile number and email address after applying. They identify the account used for the examination process, including admit-card access. Do not rely only on a screenshot of a bank debit when checking whether the portal has accepted payment.

CLAT 2027 Application Fees

The PG instructions explicitly include NRI candidates in the INR 4,000 group. The paper purchase is optional and adds INR 500 to the relevant application fee. It is not a compulsory charge for submitting the form. Historical CLAT question papers are also available as practice resources on Zollege.

Bank transaction charges are extra and appear at the payment gateway after you choose a payment method. The application fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable. If the form is incomplete or your qualification does not meet the requirement, payment alone does not secure a valid candidature.

BPL fee concession and qualifying marks are different

BPL applicants are listed in the INR 3,500 fee group. The academic relaxation is separately limited to the categories named in the eligibility rules: SC, ST and PwD. Do not use a fee concession as proof of a lower Class 12 or LLB marks requirement.

Documents for CLAT Registration

The photograph and signature do not need attestation. The instructions specify PDF uploads for documents and certificates. Use the actual photograph and signature upload fields for their accepted file type and size; do not assume the certificate format applies to an image field.

If a reservation certificate is not ready, the Consortium FAQ allows you to apply and produce the supporting document at admission. This does not permit an inaccurate category claim or an altered document. Follow the form's available option for a pending certificate and raise an upload problem through the portal rather than attaching an unrelated file.

The allotted NLU will require originals in the form and manner it specifies. Names, category and qualification details in the application must agree with that evidence. A legible upload and an authentic original serve different stages of verification.

CLAT Application Corrections and Multiple Forms

Do not assume a later correction window will reopen a locked field. If a critical detail is wrong, contact the official CLAT support channel with your application particulars before taking a further step. The instructions do not promise a programme or category change after payment.

Submitting a second form is not a free correction method. It brings the latest-application rule into effect and does not transfer or refund the earlier payment. Check the status of the application that will actually be considered.

Application Route for NRI and Foreign-national Candidates

Indian nationals, NRIs, PIO card holders and OCI card holders can appear for CLAT under the nationality instructions. Foreign nationals cannot appear for the examination and must approach the relevant NLU directly.

NRI and NRI-sponsored seats are not allotted by the Consortium. The university handles that admission route and its evidence, fees and application. An NRI candidate registering for the test should not assume that the same form applies to every NLU's NRI seat process.

What Happens After the Application Is Submitted?

Save the submitted application and payment record, then check that the account shows the correct programme and category. The hall ticket will be downloadable from the same CLAT account; its release date is announced separately.

The test is on 6 December 2026. Keep the application details available for later admit-card or payment queries. At admission, the NLU will check qualifying marks and any reservation claim. If the category evidence does not support the claim, that category benefit can be removed in later counselling rounds.
