The published marking rule gives one mark for a correct answer and deducts 0.25 for a wrong one. Earlier key revisions below are labelled by year because they do not change the answers or maximum marks of an examination that has not taken place.
CLAT 2027 Answer Key and Raw Marks
| Response | Marks |
| Correct | +1 |
| Wrong | -0.25 |
| Unanswered | 0 |
A provisional key gives the authority’s initial answers. If an objection window opens, use the notified question number, set and submission process. The 2027 objection fee, deadline and portal steps are not announced; older procedures do not establish those details.
After objections are decided, use the applicable final or revised key. For a question with more than one accepted option, compare the marked response with the accepted set; do not award two marks for one question. A withdrawn question must follow the authority’s scoring decision, not an assumed bonus.
In CLAT 2026 UG, one question was withdrawn and the result was evaluated out of 119. The revised 2025 UG process had a different evaluated base, detailed below. These examples show why the printed total and final evaluated maximum may differ.
Which CLAT 2025 Answer Key Applies?
| Item | Revised UG position |
| Notification date | 17 May 2025 |
| Printed questions | 120 |
| Withdrawn questions | 7 |
| Evaluated maximum | 113 |
| Revised UG result | 17 May 2025 |
The revision followed the court proceedings identified in the notification. The complete final appendix, not a social-media correction list, governs the accepted answers. This 113-mark figure is for UG; it must not be applied to the separately revised PG result.
A downloadable question paper still shows the original question sequence. Keep the questions for practice, but remove withdrawn items from the final-result calculation. The CLAT 2025 question-paper page provides the historical paper resource.
CLAT 2025 Withdrawn Questions: Set-wise Mapping
| Section | Set A | Set B | Set C | Set D |
| Logical Reasoning | 89 | 107 | 101 | 92 |
| Logical Reasoning | 97 | 91 | 103 | 100 |
| Logical Reasoning | 99 | 93 | 105 | 102 |
| Logical Reasoning | 100 | 94 | 106 | 97 |
| Logical Reasoning | 102 | 96 | 108 | 99 |
| Quantitative Techniques | 109 | 112 | 118 | 117 |
| Quantitative Techniques | 110 | 113 | 119 | 118 |
Each row represents the same withdrawn item across the four booklet sets. Seven rows therefore mean seven withdrawals, not 28 different questions.
A question number is meaningful only with the set identifier. For example, Set A 109 corresponds to Set B 112, Set C 118 and Set D 117. Applying the Set A list mechanically to a Set C response sheet can remove the wrong answers.
2025 Reference: Changed and Multiple Accepted Answers
| Set A | Set B | Set C | Set D | Final accepted answer |
| 14 | 11 | 17 | 23 | C |
| 62 | 66 | 71 | 77 | C or D |
| 87 | 105 | 99 | 96 | C |
| 85 | 103 | 97 | 94 | C |
The Legal Reasoning item at Set A 62 accepts either C or D. This does not mean a candidate should mark two options: it means either of those single responses is accepted for that question under the revised key.
The challenged item at Set A 68, corresponding to B 72/C 56/D 83, retained C. A question being challenged does not itself establish that the key changed or that the item was withdrawn.
2025 Reference: How to Calculate the Revised UG Score
- Match the booklet set and question text with the final appendix.
- Remove the seven withdrawn items from the scored response count.
- Apply the corrected and multiple-accepted answers to the remaining items.
- Count correct, wrong and unanswered responses among the 113 evaluated questions.
- Calculate correct answers minus 0.25 times wrong answers.
Example: after exclusions and key corrections, 80 correct, 20 wrong and 13 unanswered responses give 75 marks. The count check is 80 +20 +13 =113; the score is 80 -5 =75.
Do not add seven bonus marks to this score. Withdrawal reduces the evaluated set. It is not the same operation as declaring all responses to an item correct.
If an answer changes from wrong to correct, the net improvement is 1.25 marks: the quarter-mark deduction disappears and one mark is added. A withdrawal has a different effect depending on how that item was previously counted.
2025 Reference: Final Key, Solutions and Scorecard
| Resource | What it establishes |
| Final answer key | Accepted options and withdrawn items |
| Worked solution | Reasoning behind an answer |
| Individual revised scorecard | Official candidate result |
| Question booklet | Passage, options and set numbering |
An option-letter table is not a detailed explanation. For a disputed practice answer, first establish the final accepted option, then work through the passage or calculation. A solution written before the revision may still follow the superseded option.
The 2025 objection period is closed. A current aspirant can use the paper and final key for practice, but an old objection button or fee instruction should not appear as an active 2027 service.
