CLAT 2027 Schedule

The counselling entry is a broad window in the Consortium FAQ, not a round-by-round timetable. It should not be read as a deadline to pay a counselling or admission fee.

CLAT Application and Fee Deadline

Registration opened on 3 August 2026. By 31 October at 11:59 pm, the form must be complete, submitted and paid. Mobile OTP verification, a saved draft or a bank debit without portal confirmation does not by itself establish completion.

No separate later payment date or late-fee window is listed in the application instructions. Programme, category and BPL fields lock after submission and payment; application updates are not accepted after closure. These restrictions matter even when an applicant created the account weeks earlier.

The test application is separate from any NLU-specific NRI or NRI-sponsored admission form. A university can have its own deadline for those seats; the CLAT closing date should not be substituted for it.

CLAT Exam Date and Timing

The test is offline. Both UG and PG follow this published date, but applicants take the paper corresponding to the programme selected in their form. The extended timing applies to eligible PwD candidates, not automatically to every applicant requesting extra time.

2 pm is the examination start, not the reporting time. Follow the reporting and entry instructions on the admit card. The general schedule does not supply a substitute gate-closing time or allow candidates to choose a different test session.

CLAT Admit Card, Answer Key and Result Dates

The Consortium has not announced exact 2027 admit-card, answer-key or result dates in the current schedule. The hall ticket will be available through the candidate account, with its release announced separately.

Once the admit card is available, match the exam date, programme and allotted centre against your application. For post-exam answer checking, use the correct paper and booklet key. A provisional answer check is not a result declaration, and an objection deadline is not the result date.

Do not carry a date from a previous CLAT cycle into this schedule. Historical CLAT papers are useful for practice, but the year printed on a paper is not a date forecast for the next result or counselling round.

Counselling Dates and Qualifying Results

The announced counselling window is December 2026/January 2027. The start of counselling can therefore come before the Class 12 or final LLB results of appearing candidates. The Consortium expressly allows appearing applicants and leaves the arrangements for submitting qualifying results to the NLUs.

For UG, the eligibility page names qualifying examinations in March/April 2027, and the FAQ also discusses April/May result-pending candidates. PG eligibility covers candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2027. Passing evidence with the required marks is needed at admission.

An early allotment does not waive the qualification requirement. Use the university's instructions for the result submission date and the start of classes, rather than assuming that either date is the same as the first counselling round.

CLAT 2026 or CLAT 2027: Which Cycle Is This?

For a student seeking entry to a five-year integrated course such as BA LLB in 2027-28, the relevant cycle is CLAT 2027, even though the examination is on 6 December 2026. The same admission-year label applies to CLAT PG.

Keep three dates separate in your records: the examination date, your qualifying-examination result date and the university's admission deadline. The first determines when you take CLAT; the other two determine when you can prove eligibility and complete admission.
