The Consortium of National Law Universities releases the CLAT Merit List shortly after the CLAT Results are declared. CLAT Counselling is generally done in 5 rounds for admissions to law studies at the NLUs, with CLAT Merit scores provided at the end of every round. The CLAT 2024 Merit List would include details such as the candidate's registration number/Roll number, All India Ranking, and overall score secured in the exam. CLAT 2024 Results would be based on the CLAT 2024 cutoffs of different participating colleges.

How to Download CLAT 2024 Merit List? 

Candidates can download the CLAT Merit List by following the steps below:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of the CLAT consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  • Step 2: Click on the exam title “CLAT 2024”
  • Step 3: On that page, students can find the merit list for both UG and PG of the year 2024.
  • Step 4: Students can check the rankings with their respective Roll No./Registration No.

Details to Find in CLAT 2024 Merit List

The following are the details students can find from the CLAT 2024 Merit List:

  • Candidates Admit Card number
  • All India Rank (AIR)
  • Total Marks scored by the candidate

CLAT 2024 Merit List Tie-Breaker 

Students who secured higher rank would be prioritized during the CLAT Seat Allotment Process in case of a CLAT 2024 tie.

In the event of a tie among two students who scored the same score, the tie is separated according to the following conditions:

  • Students who scored more on the legal aptitude part.
  • Older students (Age wise) are given priority.
  • If both the students are of the same age, an automated poll will be conducted.

  • Step 2: Click on the “CLAT 2024” link
  • Step 3: Students should log in with their phone no. and password
  • Step 4: Students should click on the “Results Scorecard” section
  • Step 5: Students will view the scorecard. They can download it for the future reference

CLAT 2024 Cutoff Deciding Factors 

The cut-offs differ from one Law university to the other. Several circumstances as listed below may have an effect on the CLAT 2024 cut-offs:

  1. The number of seats available at the National Law University.
  2. Reservation policy of the NLUs.
  3. The candidate's choice is influenced by aspects such as university rankings and the vicinity of the university.
  4. Marks and ranks achieved by the candidates.
  5. The number of candidates who take the test each year is 60,000 (Approx.) for UG CLAT and 10,000 for CLAT LLM.

CLAT 2024 Counselling 

The Consortium of NLUs conducts CLAT Counselling through a centralized system for applicants who are selected to attend the counselling. The candidates' ranking, cutoffs, marks, and choices are used to determine the CLAT 2024 seat allocation.

CLAT 2024 Counselling Process 

  • Registration: After publishing the first list, candidates should apply for the counselling process. Candidates whose names are displayed in the list are eligible to move to the next step of the counselling procedure.
  • Candidates Preference: Candidates should choose a specific course and university as per their wish. Once decided they’ll not be able to change the choices. So, this will be the final choice of your course and college.
  • Payment of Fee: After selecting the suitable course and college, candidates should pay the counselling fee of Rs. 50,000 to get selected provisionally. Candidates should pay via the college official website using net banking/debit card/credit card, etc.
  • Declaration of Seat Allotment Lists: After publishing the seat allotment lists, candidates can check out their names. If the name is not listed, you will be allotted seats in the upcoming allotment lists.
  • Final stage: Candidates who have been allotted a seat in their respective NLUs have three options to choose with:
  1. Accept the seat
  2. Choose for an Upgradation
  3. Withdrawal of their seat

CLAT 2024: FAQs

Ques. What’s the total strength of the students who attempte the CLAT 2022?

Answer: Annually around 50,000 students take the CLAT Examination. A maximum of 70,277 students enrolled for CLAT 2021 with 62,106 candidates appearing for the exam. The CLAT PG 2021 Merit List had 3547 students, while the CLAT UG 2021 Merit List had 28,401 students in total.

Ques. Do I get the CLAT 2024 merit list via offline?

Answer: No, the CLAT Merit List will be published on the governing authority's website- consortium onlus.ac.in. Once the admissions process is done, the respective authority will publish a consolidated list.

Ques. Do we get the CLAT 2024 merit list before the CLAT 2024 counselling?

Answer: After the CLAT Results and Counseling, the CLAT 2024 Merit List will be released. The Merit List will be released after every round of Counselling.
