The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has made the FMGE October 2026 test city available on October 20. Candidates can check the allotted city through the FMGE applicant login on the NBEMS website. NBEMS will not send the test city separately by email or SMS.
The same notice gives a final deadline to candidates whose applications still show deficient documents or images. Only candidates flagged in the relevant scrutiny portal need to make these corrections, and they must finish by October 21, 2026, at 11:55 PM. Admit cards are scheduled for October 27, while the examination will be held on October 31.

How to check the FMGE October 2026 test city
- Open the official NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in.
- Go to the FMGE section and select the October 2026 session.
- Open the applicant login and enter the registered credentials.
- View the allotted test city and save a copy for travel planning.
- Return to the portal on October 27 to download the admit card.
The test city information is commonly called the city slip, but it is not the admit card. It tells candidates the allotted city so they can plan travel. The exact test-centre address, reporting time and entry instructions will appear on the admit card.
Who must use the document or image scrutiny portal?
The Document Scrutiny Portal is visible only to candidates who have been asked to submit deficient documents. Such candidates must upload the required records through that portal by October 21 at 11:55 PM. The notice does not ask every applicant to upload the same documents again.
The Image Scrutiny Portal is for candidates whose uploaded photograph, signature or thumb impression does not meet the prescribed instructions. NBEMS had allowed the selective image-edit window from October 3 to 19 and has extended the final correction deadline to October 21 at 11:55 PM.
Candidates should sign in and check both the dashboard and the scrutiny section. If no deficiency is shown and the scrutiny portal is not available, they should not replace an already accepted file merely because the correction notice has been issued.
What happens if a flagged deficiency is not corrected?
NBEMS says candidates who do not complete the application with the required documents or do not correct notified deficiencies by the deadline will be declared ineligible. No further opportunity will be given after the prescribed correction period.
An admit card will not be issued to a candidate declared ineligible before the examination. The information bulletin also states that the examination fee will be forfeited in such cases. Candidates asked to submit eligibility documents should ensure that the applicable Eligibility Certificate and the Provisional Pass Certificate or degree certificate for the primary medical qualification are available in the application record.
FMGE city slip and admit card are different
| Document | What it shows | When available |
|---|---|---|
| Test city information | Allotted examination city for advance travel planning | October 20, 2026 |
| Admit card | Exact centre address, reporting schedule and exam-day instructions | October 27, 2026 |
Eligible candidates must download the admit card through their login and carry a colour printout to the centre. The bulletin also requires an original government-issued photo identity document. The name on the ID should match the name printed on the admit card; candidates with a legal name change must carry the supporting document.
What FMGE candidates should do now
- Check the allotted test city through the official applicant login.
- Look for a document or image deficiency message in the dashboard.
- If flagged, complete the applicable correction by October 21 at 11:55 PM.
- Download the admit card when it becomes available on October 27.
- Verify the exact centre and reporting time before travelling for the October 31 examination.
Candidates with a portal or eligibility query can use the NBEMS Communication Web Portal through their registered email address. They should rely on the official applicant login rather than third-party links for city information, scrutiny uploads and the admit card.
