Delhi University (DU) officials have announced the introduction of three B.Tech courses with a total of 360 seats for the upcoming DU Admission 2023. The registration process for these new B.Tech courses is expected to commence at the end of June. Notably, the eligibility criteria for B.Tech admission will be based on the candidates' JEE Main marks, which sets it apart from other undergraduate courses.

For B.Tech Admission at Delhi University, candidates' Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 scores will be considered. The three B.Tech courses available are Computer Science and Engineering (120 seats), Electronics and Communication Engineering (120 seats), and Electrical Engineering (120 seats). It's worth mentioning that DU uses the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores for admissions to other programs, excluding B.Tech.

To be eligible for the B.Tech program at Delhi University, candidates must have passed the 12th examination from a recognized board. Additionally, they need to have achieved a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, along with a pass in English (core or elective) as one of the subjects. According to an anonymous DU official, admission will also take into account the JEE-Main ranks. The registration portal is expected to open in the last week of June, and there will be a registration and counseling fee of Rs 1500.

During the application process, candidates will only need to provide their preferences for the three B.Tech courses, and certain details such as their name, signature, and photographs will be automatically integrated from their JEE application form. Seats will be allotted based on JEE Main scores and the preferences submitted. Delhi University will appoint experienced faculty members for the B.Tech program.

Alok Ranjan Pandey, a member of DU's academic council and standing committee, mentioned that while Delhi Technological University (DTU) and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) were previously affiliated with DU, they shifted to the Delhi government in 2009 and 2018, respectively, resulting in DU not offering B.Tech programs. Consequently, the new Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh expedited the introduction of these B.Tech programs over the past decade.
