National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela is commencing registrations for the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) on June 19. This registration is for admission to 31 NITs, Indian Institutes of Engineering, Science, and Technology (IIEST), 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 3 Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and 36 Government-funded technical institutes through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023.

Candidates who have qualified the JEE Main exam and meet the eligibility criteria of these institutes are eligible to participate in the CSAB registration process.

Approximately 2.5 to 3 lakh qualified candidates of JEE Main 2023 are expected to attend CSAB counseling. The counseling will allocate seats for approximately 40,000 candidates, with a 20 percent reservation for females.

CSAB Counselling 2023: Important Changes

Important changes of CSAB Counselling 2023 are listed below:

  • For CSAB Counselling 2023, candidates must pass class 12th with at least 75% marks. SC, ST, and PwD candidates must score 65% in class 12th
  • Candidates who are Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) will be eligible to apply for the CSAB Counselling 2023 in the general category
  • The verification center will also require physical verification for candidates with less than 40% disability but having difficulty writing and requesting a scribe or extra time during the exam.
  • If a candidate’s category has been changed in the JoSAA counseling 2023 process, candidates need to show their original birth category by presenting a valid proof certificate in the CSAB special round 2023 registration.
  • There is an online interface which is developed by NIT Rourkela where candidates can apply for the restoration of their birth category by uploading a valid category certificate.
