The University Grants Commission or UGC decided to extend bi-annual admissions in an offline mode on May 15, 2024. The decision has been welcomed with positive feedback from students. A UGC spokesperson stated, "Bi-annual admissions will enable HEIs to plan their resource distributions better."

CUET UG and CUET PG scores will now be valid for both admissions sessions in a year. UGC has also clarified that the bi-annual admissions will not only be limited to undergraduate and postgraduate admissions but will also extend to PhD admissions.

Students across the country have rejoiced in this decision as it offers them greater flexibility to take admissions in their preferred courses. It also means that fewer students will have to wait an entire year for admissions, and can now choose to enroll in a course in either one of the admission windows in a year.

Will CUET be Conducted Twice a Year?

Following UGC’s decision to implement bi-annual admissions, students are asking, “If CUET will be conducted twice a year?’. UGC’s Chairperson, M Jagadesh Kumar, has stated, “ There is no need for multiple entrance tests. CUET UG and PG Test scores will be valid for the whole ear and students can take admissions based on the same”

This decision has garnered positive feedback from experts and students alike. There has not been an official word on the academic session from which UGC will implement the bi-annual admissions system for CUET. Students, experts, and guardians alike eagerly await the release of further communication regarding the same from UGC.
