The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released two important updates regarding the NEET PG 2024 Counselling schedule. These include the resignation of seats from previous rounds of counselling and the addition of extra seats for Round 3. Candidates and institutions must adhere to these directives to ensure a seamless process leading to the NEET PG 2024 Exam date, which is scheduled for June 15, 2025.
Resignation from Round-1 and Round-2 Seats
The candidates who were allotted seats in Round-1 or Round-2 of the NEET PG 2025 Counselling schedule can withdraw, if needed. The withdrawal facility will be available from 17th December 2024 at 4:00 PM to 26th December 2024 till 6:00 PM.
Important Details:
- Eligibility for Resignation:
- Candidates assigned new seats in Round-2 who joined but now wish to resign.
- Candidates upgraded in Round-2 who have taken the upgraded seat but want to give it up.
- Steps for Resignation:
- Candidates need to visit the allotted college in person to start the process.
- The resignation letter should be generated online through the MCC portal (mcc.nic.in) by the college. If not done, the resignation will not be valid.
- Impact of Resignation:
- The security deposit of resigning candidates will be forfeited.
Contribution of Seats for Round-3
Participating institutions are required to contribute any additional seats for Round-3 through the intra MCC portal, which is open until 24th December 2024 (5:00 PM).
Guidelines for Institutions:
- Only seats newly approved by the National Medical Commission or introduced through fresh Letters of Permission should be added.
- Vacant seats from prior rounds, either because individuals failed to report, the matches were cancelled, or they resigned should not be re-submitted, as this may duplicate a seat.
