NIELIT January 2027 CHM-T O-Level registration is open until October 26, 2026. The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) has kept the registration and online payment window open for the Computer Hardware Maintenance Technician (O-Level Computer Hardware) course.

The notice dated October 14 is addressed to candidates and institutes. It says the complete registration process, including online payment of the registration fee, must be finished by October 26. The notice does not announce the January 2027 examination date, so candidates should keep checking the official Student Portal for the next schedule.

What the NIELIT notice covers

The update is specifically for the CHM-T O-Level Computer Hardware course in the January 2027 examination cycle. It keeps both the registration process and the related online payment open through October 26. Candidates who are completing the process through an institute should also confirm that the institute has submitted the form and payment within the same window.

This is separate from the earlier NIELIT notice for O/A/B/C Level courses. That notice extended registration only up to October 15 and online payment up to October 17. Those dates do not extend the CHM-T deadline or create a new O/A/B/C registration window.

The latest notice does not publish a theory or practical examination timetable, a new fee amount, or a change in course eligibility. Read the course instructions on the official NIELIT website before submitting personal or institute details.

How to complete registration

1. Open the official NIELIT Student Portal.
2. Select the January 2027 examination cycle and the CHM-T O-Level Computer Hardware registration option shown for your candidate type.
3. Enter the requested details carefully and review the form before final submission. If an institute is submitting the form, confirm the institute-side status as well.
4. Pay the registration fee online by October 26, 2026, and keep the transaction or acknowledgement details.
5. Save a copy of the submitted registration page and watch the Student Portal for the examination schedule, centre information and admit-card updates.

Use the official NIELIT course information page for course-level instructions. Do not use the October 15 or October 17 O/A/B/C deadlines as a substitute for the CHM-T notice.

After you pay: keep your record

A successful payment screen is not a substitute for a completed registration. Check that the portal shows the correct January 2027 CHM-T course, your candidate or institute details, and a saved acknowledgement. If the payment is debited but the application status does not update, use the official portal or NIELIT help instructions instead of submitting repeated forms without checking the status.

NIELIT can publish the next examination or admit-card updates separately. Keep the login details, acknowledgement and payment record available until the cycle is complete.
