- We can access library till 2am and during exams it is 24-7. It is the most comfortable place you will find in the campus.
- Campus Life here is very good. If you play any sports, then you have all top tier facilities available to train yourself.
Dislikes
- One thing that bothers me is that some of the buildings and classrooms are a bit outdated. The Wi-Fi can also be pretty unreliable, which is frustrating when I’m trying to study or join an online class. The library is nice, but during exam season, it’s almost impossible to find a seat, which is annoying when I really need a quiet place to focus.
- Lastly, I feel like the campus could do more to promote diversity and inclusion. While there are some efforts, it sometimes feels like certain groups or perspectives are underrepresented, and more could be done to make everyone feel welcome and included
Remarks :
I cleared JEE Advanced to get into IIT Guwahati. I chose it because it is among the top prestigious institute of India. It has the most beautiful campus among IIT'S. The weather here is pleasant. All the facilities inside the campus are top notch.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose BTech in Mechanical engineering because I had intrest in it. The faculty here is very well qualified. All the professors excell in their field. Every semester has a proper structure and every thing goes timely.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, I’ve opted for a couple of internships during my time at college. The first one was through a partnership my college has with a local tech company. They offered a summer internship program that was advertised through our career services office. It was a great experience where I got to work on real projects and even had a mentor assigned to guide me.
Placement Experience :
Around 300+ companies visited for our campus placement. Many big names like Amazon, Media.net, JPMC, KPMG, Accenture, Flipkart, Microsoft etc. I plan on getting into one of it and work as a Software developer.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee for one semester is around 1.3 lakh for a general category student. If your annual family income is between 1-5 lakh we get two third discount on tution fee. If it is less than 1 lakh then no tution fee at all. Total fee for all 8 semester is around 10 lakh.
Campus Life :
Alcheringa is the cultural fest of IIT Guwahati. It is the biggest fest in North East India. Many people from all over country visit our campus and enjoy 3-4 days fest. Library of our institute a heaven on earth. We have many clubs for different activities.
Hostel Facilities :
We have around 11-12 hostels at IIT GUWAHATI. Some of them are under construction. Hostels are very well facilitated. We have canteen, juice centre, stationary etc in every hostel. By default we all get hostels, we do not have to apply for it.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
