There was no entrance exam for taking admission in the college. I chose this course at Wilson College because I had heard a lot of good things about the faculty; which turned out to be true. The college is at a prime location opposite Girgaon Chowpatty and that made me want to go here more.
As mentioned earlier, the faculty is top-notch with expertise in their respective fields. One of the professors is someone who founded BMM in Mumbai University. The course is up-to-date with newer trends and the syllabus is contemporary. The exams are pretty easy but there’s more focus on practical knowledge than theoretical. I wanted to do this because I love media and films in general.
Internship opportunities are posted on the college group making it easier for everyone to do them if they want it. The companies and stipend depend on various factors like work, skill, etc. The projects given in the course are generally of high standard that students can show to potential employers as something they have done that had an impact.
Many of my friends did get placed into media companies after the course got over. Some opened their own agencies. As for me, I was more interested in theatre, so I’m pursuing that. The course makes you capable of facing the real world and dealing with media issues.
The fees does increase year by year but not too much. Annual fees does not include food and hostel. One of my batchmates who was from Scheduled Community had less fees. There definitely is a sports quota for admission in the college.
The BMM fest “Polaris” is held every July. There are students from all over the country. You’ll find lots of diversity and openness in them. There are many clubs and groups which you can be a part of like literature club, film club, dance club, etc. Many of my batchmates also played sports competition for the college and won medals. A huge library is the major plus point of this college.
I did not opt for College Hostel but the food given in mess is good. You get Veg and Non Veg both. The batchmates who did opt for college hostel took part in many hostel activities and trips. They lived in good conditions and had large airy rooms.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .

There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
