This college have a good performance in all aspects like- research, placements for last decade and good environment for living conditions so choose this college.This is the best college which I can get on my JEE advanced Rank. This college do not take any interview, written test for admission It is totally based on your JEE advanced Rank. JEE advanced is a exam which is conducted by IITs yearly for admission in IITs.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because of my personal interest in Mechanical engineering. The one who have interest in this course who can take this course If your JEE rank is according to its seat cutoff. The faculties of Mechanical engineering department have very good knowledge of their subjects and experience of minimum 20+ years. This institute has a calender of its all institute work so date of exam is fixed. Every course has a midterm exam and end term exam and quizzes is only depends on your faculty If he/she wants to take quiz or not
Placement Experience :
IITs have a good record of placements . Eligibility for placements you have no backlog in academics and expected to maintain a good CPI. Name of some recruiters are Google, Microsoft, Amazon , Nvidia, Jaguar Landrover, Mercedes-Benz, sprinklr, Quadeye and many other companies Highest package of this year 2cr.+ In placements season'24 Average package of institute is 30 lakhs per annum, In placement season'24 80% students secured their job.

This college have various types of fest Alcheringa-cultural fest- January every year Techniche- techno- management fest-September every year Spirit - sports fest-October every year Prayatna - welfare fest -November every year Virasat - classic arts fest- Feburary every year All the fest are organized by students of this college Institute have three type of extra curricular activities clubs 1) Tech clubs (eg. Robotics, Aero modelling, racing etc.) 2) culture clubs ( eg. Dramatics, Singing and music, Dance) 3) sports club ( badminton, cricket and various sports) College has grounds and amenities for different sports for students of this college. Library is the heaven for who one loves reading and learning. It contains thousands of the book and generals in every subject.
Hostel Facilities :
IIT Guwahati has hosteler based system there are no day scholars students are allowed in this college hostel is given to students by randomly distribution according to available accommodation of every hostel for first year. First and second year you have to share room with your batchmate after second year you have allotted a single room. Hostel mess provides good quality food and quality of food is tested by administration of the college every month. Hostel fees is included in semester fees you are not supposed to be pay it separately.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
