- Good in studies, and faculties members have proper knowledge about the course on its each subjects like they hold phd and master degree in particular subject and they has released so many research paper.
- equipments and chemicals ,labs are available for practical and theory classes.
Dislikes
- Campus is not good enough according to fees..and there is no proper field and ground for sports activities
- Canteen is available but with unhygienic and tasteless food.
Remarks :
This institute is nearby from mine home Town and there was no seats were available in others college and university of Assam.and this institute is known for proper education which inspired me to take admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
In assam GIPS Guwahati ranking in top under Girijananda Chowdhury University but another campus GIPS TEZPUR is different here we did not get proper facilities but education is good enough better than other colleges and universities of Assam.
Internships Opportunities :
There is intership in industries for six months which is only for bachelor students of 6 semester and for diploma students there is hospital traning after completing diploma and it's for three month's
Placement Experience :
There is intership for each student but in case of placement students are lacking behind.Students didn't get any placement from university.for example in 2024, first' batch of GIPS tezpur out of 60 only 4 students got placement with maximum amount of 25 thousands per month.And for diploma students there is no placement from University.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are different fee structure for different students like government quota and private.For private one lakh twenty eight thousand (1.28 lakhs)and for government quota 50% off where 10 students are allowed.
Campus Life :
The lack of sports opportunities at Girijananda Chowdhury University, Tezpur Campus, is a significant drawback for students. Sports are not just about physical health; they play a crucial role in developing teamwork, discipline, leadership, and stress management skills. The absence of proper sports facilities means students miss out on these essential aspects of personal growth. Without access to fields, courts, or even basic gym equipment, students are deprived of the chance to engage in regular physical activity, participate in competitions, or simply unwind after a day of classes. This gap not only affects their physical well-being but also limits their social interactions and the development of a well-rounded personality. For a university to truly support its students, offering robust sports opportunities is as important as academic facilities.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is good but mess and food quality is cheaper than road side food stalls. Food menu in hostel mess are limited we didn't get proper food , nutrients..they give unnecessary food . Unhygienic toilets.And one of the main problem of hostel is there is frequently load shedding and there is no generator for backup. First of all we have to fill up the hostel form and submit to the hostel warden or administrator.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

You must get more than 7 CGPA to sit in the placement. TCS, L&T, Jacobs etc and the highest package is around 21 LPA around 15% are placed every year.Iwill be doing PHd in IIT after getting my degree.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
