Remarks :

One of the main reasons why i chose NMIMS is due to its brand value of being one of the best colleges in the country for providing undergrad courses like BBA and BSC Finance. It was my goal to be associated with this institute and so far it's quite rewarding. The only negative part that I feel is that for a college it is extremely strict abt a lot of things. Discipline is ofcourse needed but the over infusion of rules takes a little fun out of the college life Speaking about the admission process, every student is required to give NPAT (admission test) and maths in 11th and 12th standard is compulsory for few of the undergraduate programmes that you apply for. Once you give this test , a merit list comes out and you are alloted as per the ranking you secured I didn't prepare for NPAT exclusively but I did take coaching classes from 'Times coaching' to prepare for various entrance exams and it helped me crack NPAT.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As I already mentioned , I choose BBA here because it's one of the best institutes to do it from and also because the syllabus of this course in NMIMS is much more advanced than anywhere else Most of the professors have multiple qualifications including PHDs and the teaching method is quite good as it brings out the professor's personal methods as well as the core standards of NMIMS Each semester of 6 months here is divided into TEE(term end examination) and ICA(internal curriculum assessment) and here at NMIMS we are constantly on our toes academically as the tests and other projects works are asked quite frequently. Speaking of the term end examination , the difficulty level is quite high and failing is not very uncommon here

Internships Opportunities :

The college does provide internships to students but at the same time encourages to find the best ones on their own I did intern for a NGO last summer and will be looking for corporate internship next summer

Placement Experience :

The eligibility criteria for placements is defined by a certain CGPA attained which right now I'm unaware of. The placement cell does not offer very detailed information even to students until they enter the 3rd(final) year of their course but this is assured that recruiters come from many high profile companies like Deloitte Very less percentage of students prefer to sit in placements as many opt for further studies. Personally I'll try and sit for placements after getting my degree in pursuit of gaining work-experience.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fees constitute to just more than 50% of the whole fee structure while for the rest of the fees I am not sure about the exact distribution Whereas I would like to share that other courses in my institute like BBA hospitality , BTECH etc. have lower fees than BBA. Lastly, yes the fees does increase in consecutive years but I'm unaware of the exact amount of increase

Campus Life :

The clubs and committees present in the college is completely lead by students with just minor overlook by the faculty. There are many committees like cultural committee , sports committee , rotaract club, commerce law club etc. and then there are various other clubs abd committees run by their own schools like school of commerce(SOC) School of hospitality management (SOHM) School of business management (SBM) etc. Because of so many committees and clubs present, the campus is a very happening place providing opportunity for everyone to meet new people at events happening all across the year. Though each club and committee have their own flagship event, the one event which happens to be the flagship event of the campus is called 'TVARAN' and it happens in February/March every year Speaking of the library , it only consists of academic material and as for the sports and extracurricular activities, many specific committees and clubs are responsible for those

Hostel Facilities :

Any student can apply for the college hostel through its website and is allotted through first come first serve basis. Financially , it's quite overpriced for the facilities provided by the hostel. The menu does provide with ample variation but the food quality is quite average

Placement Experience :

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
