Likes
- The labs and workshops provided by the college are excellent and up to mark with the latest technology.
- The senior faculty members are just wow; they are the best in their field and can guide you to heaven if you listen to them.
- The facilities on the campus are good. They include a swimming pool, 3 playing grounds, squash, badminton courts, and 2 basketball courts.
- The best thing is the langar, which you get to have during Basant Panchami, Lohri, and many other festivals.
Dislikes
- The college's infrastructure, like the gym, swimming pool, etc., is not standard. Most of the machines are outdated, and it is taking ages to buy new ones.
- Girls have the hostel at 8.00 PM and boys till 2nd year have the hostel at 10.00 PM. If girls don't reach the hostel on time, they will not be allowed to enter the hostel after 8.00.
Remarks :
It would be best to secure a rank in JEE MAIN to get admission to BTech in this college. After getting your seat from Josaa or Csab counseling, there will be no test, interview, or GD for admission. Good Aspect: The senior faculties of the college are very excellent in their respective fields, and they always help guide you better. The courses are up to mark and up to date, which they teach. The college curriculum is made in such a way that if you follow it consistently and delicately, you don't have to buy any courses, and you can secure a good MAANG job just from a college education. And if you are interested in your core studies, you can also get admission to good iits/ iiser or any foreign colleges. Bad Aspect:The management of this college is the worst; you have to fight very hard to get funds for the college fest or any competition you are participating in. They don't incorporate your admission in anything, but yes, they do care when you win a prize in the name of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty of the Metallurgy Department of college are excellent; they are all geniuses and are esteemed in their respective fields. I chose this course because I love studying semiconductors and materials. I was excited to join when I learned about the course because the faculty members were the IAS interviewer and DRDO & BARC ex-scientists. The faculty members have minimum PhD qualifications from any esteemed IIT/IISER or foreign university to Post-Doctorate. Their teaching method is the best. They will teach you from real-life examples of daily use, making you understand the concept more easily. Two exams happen in one sem, after two months of the semester starts, which we call Mid-semesters exams, and then end semesters after two months of mid-semester. Some quizzes and assignment submissions can happen before mid-semesters and end-semesters and before the end-semesters lab practical happens, which includes vivas and lab exams, as per the subject.
Internships Opportunities :
I opted for an internship in ISTA Austria, which was a research internship in metallurgical and materials engineering. The internship stipend was 1500 EURO, with accommodation and a one-way flight ticket. My role was to study the crystallography effects of the materials.
Placement Experience :
The placement and Job opportunities at the college are decent. Apple, 83 LPA, gave the highest offer, with an average of 13 LPA and a median of 10 LPA. The eligibility criteria for the placement are to have all backlogs clear and a maximum CGPA. A few of the last recruiters were Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, AiBus, Texas Instruments, DE SHAW, ZEPTO, PHONEPay, UBER, Mckinsey, Bain, etc. Around 57% of students get placed. My plans after the degree are to pursue gate and get into a scientific organization like BARC, DRDO, or ISRO.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Scholarships are also available as merit-based and needs-based. The semester fees are said to be increased by 10% every year, but it hasn't happened yet in my batch. If you are an sc/ST student, your tuition fee will be waived; you just have to pay hostel fees. One-time Fees (at the time of admission only) Admission Fee: Rs. 5,000, One-time student service fee: Rs: 6,00 Security Deposit (Refundable): Rs: 8,000 Semester Fees: 94,000, If you are a day scholar, i.e., residing in Chandigarh and not taking the hostel, then your fees will be Rs: 1,13,000 If you want to take a hostel: Refundable Security(One time only): Rs 6,000 Hostel Fee & Mess Establishment Fees: Rs 62,000 Mess Advance: 3500 Maintenance Charges: Rs 10,000. Monthly mess charges, around Rs. 4000. It's hidden charges. After the first year, you have to pay Rs. 94,000 per sem and Rs. 75,500 per year for the hostel. For the hosteller, per year charges will be Rs. 3,00,000 for day scholars, it will be Rs. 1,88,000
Campus Life :
The best college fest is PEC FEST, which usually happens around OCT-NOV. It's a 3-day fest, and every day is fun. On the last day, celebrity night occurs, where you can enjoy your life. The Centra Library almost have every book, as undergrad student you can borrow up to 3 books for 16 days. Classrooms have suitable seating arrangements, a blackboard, and an intelligent board from which the teacher teaches. The labs are well-equipped and well-furnished, except the old physics and chemistry labs. The campus is furnished with good sports fields, gyms, a swimming pool, basketball, badminton, and squash courts. There are three fields on the campus. And a sports fest happens twice every year, during which you can show your sporty animal on the ground. Students run many societies. All these are divided into three categories. Technical Societies: ASCE, IIM, SAE, CSS, ASME, IEEE, SESI Cultural Societies: EDITORIAL, SSC, DRAMS, DANCE, MUSIC, APC, PDC NSS, NCC & Images Chandigarh(NGO)
Hostel Facilities :
There are four boys' and two girls' hostels; I'll be reviewing the boys' hostel. The first and second years were given to Shivalik & Aravali Hostel, respectively. And the mess food of these hostels is terrible; you won't be able to eat it. It's worse. They will charge around 4000 per month, but the quality will worsen. The 4th and 3rd years were given Himayalaya and Kurukshetra Hostel, and in terms of food, these are the best hostels. Plus, mess charges are around 2-3K per month. Hostel per year charges are around Rs. 75,500, excluding mess charges. If you are from another state rather than Chandigarh, you can get a hostel quickly on the day of physical verification in the college. Documents will be provided, all you need to have the Demand Draft of the hostel fees to submit. The infrastructure is good; you will have a TV room and TT table, but the Wi-Fi is not standard in every room. You might not get a good internet connection if your room is far from Wi-Fi. You can't rent nearby

College offers on campus placements opportunities in the 4th year of the course . Many reputed companies like Apple , Amazon , PhonePe , Maruti Suzuki etc visits campus for rhe placements. Highest and average package is around 60 lakhs and 17 lakhs respectively . 90 % students got placed this year

I don't have much idea about eligibility criteria because I have been in the clg 3 months. Company like Jp Morgan godrej britannia etc are the tip recruiters in our branch. This semester My H and Q company have given intern to many students. I am planning for government jobs. 40% of students are places in my branch.

Placemnts are better than other nits like hamirpur nit Jalandhar and nit kurukshetra also better than some private college like thapar its avg is like 13 lakh and median is 12 lakh for electrcal its same median avg is 14.5 and cse avg goes 20+ and ai avg 19 lakhs

placements are good and you can get the official data on college websity of my branch 94 placed out of 127 and avg package is 13.1 and median is 12 lpa but cse avg this year goes 20 + lpa but lower branch like civil has some low placemnt stats as many students go for foriegn ms or higher studies or gate psu from civil

The placement rate of chitkara is great from the starting of third year you can apply for placements . Various companies like Wipro,hero, Tata motors, Reliance, Lenovo visits for placements. The average package is around 8 lpa and heights is 45 lpa, from the college there are 100% placement rate.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I was never interested in this course but due to family stress I was forced to do this and later on it was much intrested than any other subject. The beginning and end of universe is all what engineering teaches us and if somebody will find it not interesting then he should cut himself from this world.

The placement is quite very low for my department and my course. University is practicing for encouraging more companies for our course placement. It is improving but now the placement is low for my course . Like from last year only 5 were placed out of 60.
