Likes
- One good thing about college is its course faculty as they do support experimental and practical knowledge.
- It's placement and the internship opportunities provided by the college although is less than previous years but ok.
Dislikes
- The thing that I dislike about my campus is its infrastructure. As compared with other colleges it's infrastructure is below average. Being a reputed institute it should perform better.
- Second thing is campus life . The average girls to boys ratio is very less and the chance for improving communication skills are not same for all students, as some being remains being shy.
Remarks :
There were many factors that made me choose this college. As my uncle has been an alumni from this college , he also advised me to opt for this college as telling about his experiences he said the college is good and the placement is decent according to their times. Another factor was the location that is chandigarh. Although it is not the marketing or the software hub but it doesn't provide the benefits of the a metropolis city and some companies setup base as well. It also have a good alumni base as many of its alumni are settled in USA , Canada , Germany etc. also the one India are also at reputed position in various companies as well as some even founded their own. The admission process is simple,one have to secure a seat through either Josaa or Csab. It depends on all your all India rank or category rank that which branch would you be getting. After this one have to just physical report and just provide them physical documents for checking and there are no such interview rounds.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Basically I opted this course as being part of the electronic department and the forthcoming wave of semiconductor industry would benefit us . The faculty provided us by the college is qualified well as they are been teaching for about 15 years and are passouts of well college such as some are from IIT's , some from NIT'S and some are alumni from thapar and bits as well. Overall the faculty is good as they know what they are teaching,not just making up spots. Teaching method is not new but important thing is that they are now focusing on practical and projects as well. The terms exam were timely as each year they are scheduled around the same time . Students are being informed from the starting of the semester that exams would be happening on these dates and the dates are being followed up as well. The difficult for the exam can be said as average . Although some questions were difficult but mostly were average and at the end it only depends on your practice.
Internships Opportunities :
Currently I am in second year and would be looking for internship opportunities in the upcoming months in the field of software development. Basically my goal is to grab a good internship that would help me land in better career opportunities.
Placement Experience :
As the ongoing recession has not come to a end, there is no doubt that it had affected the placement and internship for all colleges and our's is not different too. The eligibility criteria depend on company to company. The basic is that a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and no backs in the exam along with less than 2 umc(unfair means of cheating) . Some of the recruiter were JP morgan , Amex, Uber , texas etc. Highest packages for the year 23-24 was around 50 lakhs and the average package was around 18 lakhs. Companies come from various profiles such as marketing leads, software developer, electronic heads etc . As our course is a new one we are the first batch , and we don't have any seniors . The average percentage of students getting placed according to seniors were around 55% which was less than previous years. My plans after getting degree is to hopefully get placed before it otherwise to do my masters.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
It's my second year in current college and this yera I would pe paying 188000 that is 94000 per semester. It includes all fees such as tution fees, caution fees , development fees and lab fees . Currently we do not know the correct differentiation between them. For registration and admission fees we paid a one time amount of 10000 in the first semester of our college. This fees if for general category students . One's who are SC or ST are being rewarded a 50% scholarship grant by the college every semester. Along with the 2 students from each branch with maximum Cgpa one being a girl is also rewarded a 50% grant on scholarship at the end of the year. Along with students whose parents income is less than 5 lacks per yera are also rewarded some grant as scholarship depending on their education record and their financial situation.
Campus Life :
One of the major fest of the North india and the biggest fest of the college is Pecfest. It is conducted every year in the month of November after diwalli vacations. It is a 3 day long event including various events, concert show challenges , events etc. Also events such as Startup Fair, alumni meet etc is also planned at large scale. Talking about Library it majorly includes various books for each subjects and also good amount of journalls. But the books for general public and category public is different which I feel is wrong. Sports include cricket, athletics, volleyball, badminton, swimming, lawn tennis etc for both girls and boys in which student actively take part. There are numerous club which student run by themselves, although there is a professor associated to each club but most of the work is done by the students itself which Includes management, marketing, recruitment for new members, events throughout the whole year . This helps in overall development for students.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes I have opted for hostel . We currently have 4 different hostels for boys for 4 different years . The fees for which is 75000 that does not include food. For food currently hostel has hired a private message which cost around 3800 per month. The hostel quality is very poor. The renovation hasn't been done in for decades , the plaster comes out every month or two. Although washrooms are alright Other thing is that one cannot use electric items such as iron,kettel etc . If a student wanna use these items they would have to pay a extra amount of 300 rupees per appliance per month which is not fair. A The almirahs are made up of wood and have caught termite for a long time. Also as there are open windows i.e there are no mesh on windows , usually insects come around in locked room which cause disturbance. The hostels lack cleanliness. If a light gets damaged, it takes weeks to replace one. About registration process one should pay 75000 along with 6000 as one time security deposit.

College offers on campus placements opportunities in the 4th year of the course . Many reputed companies like Apple , Amazon , PhonePe , Maruti Suzuki etc visits campus for rhe placements. Highest and average package is around 60 lakhs and 17 lakhs respectively . 90 % students got placed this year

I don't have much idea about eligibility criteria because I have been in the clg 3 months. Company like Jp Morgan godrej britannia etc are the tip recruiters in our branch. This semester My H and Q company have given intern to many students. I am planning for government jobs. 40% of students are places in my branch.

Placemnts are better than other nits like hamirpur nit Jalandhar and nit kurukshetra also better than some private college like thapar its avg is like 13 lakh and median is 12 lakh for electrcal its same median avg is 14.5 and cse avg goes 20+ and ai avg 19 lakhs

placements are good and you can get the official data on college websity of my branch 94 placed out of 127 and avg package is 13.1 and median is 12 lpa but cse avg this year goes 20 + lpa but lower branch like civil has some low placemnt stats as many students go for foriegn ms or higher studies or gate psu from civil

The placement rate of chitkara is great from the starting of third year you can apply for placements . Various companies like Wipro,hero, Tata motors, Reliance, Lenovo visits for placements. The average package is around 8 lpa and heights is 45 lpa, from the college there are 100% placement rate.

There is minimum 4 months of internship we have to do in 6th semester and on campus opportunities is very good. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Atlassian, BMW, jp Morgan, AMEX came with highest package of 86 LPA

Course Curriculum Overview :
I was never interested in this course but due to family stress I was forced to do this and later on it was much intrested than any other subject. The beginning and end of universe is all what engineering teaches us and if somebody will find it not interesting then he should cut himself from this world.

The placement is quite very low for my department and my course. University is practicing for encouraging more companies for our course placement. It is improving but now the placement is low for my course . Like from last year only 5 were placed out of 60.
