Review of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh

- Lush green campus that provides a fresh and positive atmosphere
- Availability of appropriate labs and infrastructure in the college
Dislikes
- Unavailability of dispensary after 5p.m. and weekends making it difficult for students to get immediate medical help incase of emergencies.
- Availability of stray dogs in the campus that lead to a risk of various diseases.
Remarks :
Admission is through JEE mains examination conducted by NTA every year. Also quotas for Chandigarh students (student completing 10th and 12th from Chandigarh in Non-Medical Stream gets under this quota).
Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculties for branches are good and actually varies from branch to branch. Tough new faculties are being hired in order for old ones replacement, but much improvement can be made in the faculty section.
Internships Opportunities :
Very less as in my time quite less number of students are there in the internship cycle and only handful of them get placed that too by connections or by chance, there is no guarantee for internship. And on campus is quite difficult to get.
Placement Experience :
For placement CGPA factor is decided by the companies that approach the college for placement. Though more non core companies like Delloite, microsoft, dell and many others approach college but generally students form non core are much preffered.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee: 188000 er year Admission fee and registration fee: 141000 Students from categories other than general get a fee waiver of 50% Hostel fee around 81000 per year including mess Scholarships varies from department to department and also top 2 performers get a scholarship of around 50000
Campus Life :
Clubs like music, dramatics, robotics, NCC, NSS are all there but the interesting fact is that each branch has a aeparate club like for civil it is Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), etc.
Hostel Facilities :
Six hostels are there in the college, two for girls and four for boys. The food and facilities are average though cleanliness is maintained that is quite rare to see in a government coollege. But overall a PG is a better chooice over hostel.

Placement Experience :
College offers on campus placements opportunities in the 4th year of the course . Many reputed companies like Apple , Amazon , PhonePe , Maruti Suzuki etc visits campus for rhe placements. Highest and average package is around 60 lakhs and 17 lakhs respectively . 90 % students got placed this year

Placement and job opportunity is good because in civil engineering placement are good this college is better than many government college if no campus placement is offered than I prep for government exam connected to engineering like ies and many other best engineering government job

I don't have much idea about eligibility criteria because I have been in the clg 3 months. Company like Jp Morgan godrej britannia etc are the tip recruiters in our branch. This semester My H and Q company have given intern to many students. I am planning for government jobs. 40% of students are places in my branch.

Placemnts are better than other nits like hamirpur nit Jalandhar and nit kurukshetra also better than some private college like thapar its avg is like 13 lakh and median is 12 lakh for electrcal its same median avg is 14.5 and cse avg goes 20+ and ai avg 19 lakhs

placements are good and you can get the official data on college websity of my branch 94 placed out of 127 and avg package is 13.1 and median is 12 lpa but cse avg this year goes 20 + lpa but lower branch like civil has some low placemnt stats as many students go for foriegn ms or higher studies or gate psu from civil

Placements are average on comparison with other private colleges around here Highest package this year - 11.3Lpa The teachers help very much in placements and internship . The TPC cell of the college is dead for their work

Placement Experience :
The placement rate of chitkara is great from the starting of third year you can apply for placements . Various companies like Wipro,hero, Tata motors, Reliance, Lenovo visits for placements. The average package is around 8 lpa and heights is 45 lpa, from the college there are 100% placement rate.

There is minimum 4 months of internship we have to do in 6th semester and on campus opportunities is very good. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Atlassian, BMW, jp Morgan, AMEX came with highest package of 86 LPA

Course Curriculum Overview :
I was never interested in this course but due to family stress I was forced to do this and later on it was much intrested than any other subject. The beginning and end of universe is all what engineering teaches us and if somebody will find it not interesting then he should cut himself from this world.

The placement is quite very low for my department and my course. University is practicing for encouraging more companies for our course placement. It is improving but now the placement is low for my course . Like from last year only 5 were placed out of 60.
