- I like our teachers' teaching method and their mentorship.
- I like our college's environment which is really good and gives us a feel that we are far away from a hustle city life.
Dislikes
- Boys and girls common room are unhieginic and toilets are in very bad condition.
- Library is small compared to the students ratio and laboratories should have more good equipments.
Remarks :
I got selected in other colleges as well but what attracts me to study in this college is its environment and also I heard that the science background of AVC is really appreciable.No, I didn't face any group discussions, interviews or written tests for admission. The good aspects of our college are: 1. I like the way how our teachers interact with us, how they teach in a very friendly manner. 2. I like the college campus which is far away from city life. The bad aspects of our college are: 1. The library is small compared to the students ratio. 2. Laboratories should have more good equipments. 3. Girl and boys common and toilets should be made and higeinic.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose B.Sc. in physics because I have interest in this subject since class 11 and I am curious to explore this subject more. All our faculty members have PhD degree. They are very friendly and good mentor. They teach us in a very friendly way which helps us to interact and understand the topic easily. There are two exams held in one semester whose difficulty level is average.
Internships Opportunities :
No, as I am a student of 3rd sem and college provide internship from 4th sem, so I don't opted for any internship. Due to thhis reason I rarely have knowledge on the internship opportunities available with our college.
Placement Experience :
Actually internships are available from 4th semester but as I belong to 3rd sem so, I don't have much knowledge about it. Our seniors tell us that our college really provide good placement and job opportunities.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
We have to pay a fee amount of Rs.1690 year wise which includes affiliation fees 200, registration fees 430, enrollment fees 250, renovation and repairing old buildings 100, desk bench and college furniture 100, computer lab 80, toilet repairing 50, boys and girls common room repairing 50, CCTV and security 100, campus beautification and gardening 50, internal road and disaster fund 100, power 300, gen fuel 200, new book purchase 200, Library 100, stationary ta to university 400, academic seminar 100, NAAC 100, faculty 100, guest lecturer 50, sports and cultural facilities and training 100, examination fees 200, ID card 50, magazine 100, union 50, festival 100, debating fees 100, youth festivals 100, equipments and chemicals 900, etc. college also provides scholarship like ishan Uday, NEC , scholarship for obc, st/sc students which help the students in their academics.
Campus Life :
The life is good at campus. The college conducts events like freshmen social in September, farewell in May, birth and death ceremonies of different famous and inspiring persons, independence day, republic day, international science day, mathematics day, Einstein's day ,etc. The library has huge amount of journals, novels and it provides the students course related books as well. Most of the science classroom are smart , also fans and light are provided there. The college takes care of the student's sports and extracurricular side and they are trained by different kinds of workshop.

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
