Remarks :

So basically, I was too hyped to study physics in my undergraduate program, and in order to get admission in any college of Delhi University now we have to sit in the CUET exam. In order to pursue any science-based course in D.U., it's mandatory to have physics, chemistry, math, or biology (based on your 12th grade subject) and English in the subjects you take up in the CUET exam. I had PCM, English, IP, and a general test. After the CUET results were out, I registered on D.U.'s counselling portal, and the subjects on which my counseling result was generated were PCM. I scored 450 out of 600 and easily got the college in the 3rd round. I selected this college because of different websites; it was ranked higher for science courses, and I also contacted some people in the city who also said that the faculty and the services of this college are quite good, which turned out to be true. A good infrastructure, like up-to-date labs and centralised A.C., gives a plus point.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because physics was one of my strongholds in my +2 exams and highly suggest that you choose this course only if you have good command in mathematics and physics because the course demands that on a very high level and things like calculus and vectors will become child's play. The faculty in the college are very qualified. Almost all the professors there have a PhD in their domains and are very punctual in taking classes and tests, but don't worry, as they will help you in every manner they can, be it research study or competition preparation. If you approach them and they find that you are driven, they will help you. The teaching method is a hybrid type; majority teachers like getting on the board and teaching, while some use PowerPoints, but the teaching is quite fine. The term exams were held very timely, be it midterm or semester exams, and now if you come to difficulty, then I would say the papers in N.E.P. are quite hard, but an average score should be easy.

Internships Opportunities :

There are internship available on and off campus. On-campus internships involve government programs run in the college, like the DBT Star internship program and the Innovation Cell program, which are of high value. The off-campus internships can be done, but the companies you are joining as an intern need to have an MoU signed with the college in order for the college to recognise the internship and provide you with the attendance clearance for the semester. I worked in the DBT program with the college and learnt a lot of skills like micro controllers, programming, coding, etc. So there are a lot of internship opportunities, but you need to harbour them on your potential too, as the college programs are provided based on your academics.

Placement Experience :

The placement for science courses is not much of a highlight; major placements come for the courses of B.Com. and B.M.S. and Wipro, and Lancer and Turbo were the major recruiters this year. Also, students from any course can sit in the placement drive. Major recruitments are mass, so high packages are not offered. Usually around 50 percent of the students get placed. There isn't much info on the highest and lowest packages offered. I myself didn't look for placements as i want to go for higher studies and research study for which the college is very helpful and providing.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

So the fee for first year was around 18k in 2022, in the second year i paid around 22k and in the third year i paid 26k. Since due to NEP the course can be extended to 4 years, I don't have a clear number in my knowledge as to what the 4th year fee will be, but based on the previous year patterns, I am estimating it to be around 28k to 30k. SO adding this all up, the fee structure can be around 90k to 95k. Still provided the infrastructure and the facilities provided by the college, I personally believe it's a reasonable amount of fee.

Campus Life :

Campus life is quite good. We have an annual 3-day fest called Kalrav in which some celebrities come, and it's okay. Rest all there are several societies that have their own annual festivals in which they hold competitions, etc. Study departments also have their annual festivals, and students from any department can enroll. Also, the library is pretty good in resources. U can find books on every subject, whether or not that subject is taught in the college. U can also find research literature and previous year papers in the library and the issuing of the books is also quite easy. There are a lot of extracurricular activities, like sports and clubs. The only shortcoming is the small ground and unavailability of NCC. I lead the robotics club of the college and the the budget is provided easily and works well. Societies of photography, quizzing, dance, song theater, etc. There are teams of sports like cricket, volleyball, football, archery, weightlifting, chess, badminton, debating, etc.

Hostel Facilities :

I haven't opted for hostels as there are a lot of criteria to meet, like attendance, etc., and the hostels also cost around 1 to 1.2 lakhs per year, but hostels are state of the art. There are lifts, A.C., private washrooms, and all the amenities you could ask for. There is also a gym and the time restrictions for going out of the campus are quite strict and the security is good too. Also, the food in the hostel is also ok and totally depends on days; sometimes it's good, sometimes mediocre, but not bad. I in the first year opted for a pg near the college at dwarka mor. There are a plentiful of PGs near the college within the distance of a 15-minute walk, but only some of the PGs are good; otherwise, you will have to face bad food and high charges. In the second year, I opted for a flat, which again is in plenty near the college and quite affordable too, and I would recommend going for the flats as they will cost you less, provided you can fend for yourself.

Gargi Colleg , Delhi university

Placement Experience :

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Placement Experience :

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
