- The college infrastructure is really environmental friendly
- They provide NCC which provides really good opportunity to meet new people learn something new and even meeting Army Officers which is very interesting
Dislikes
- Mostly people are not friendly they only look for local people
- The campus has not much to offer and not much of fests are done
Remarks :
This was avery random choice for me because my home state Manipur haad Internet ban at that time so we used wifi from offices and applied where ever we can and allegedly was accepted in 3-4 colleges in Assam and we decided to come to this one since it's geography department is really upraised in whole Gauhati University
Course Curriculum Overview :
I really liked the idea of geography and wanted to pursue on it that's why I choose this course Geography helps you understand the physical and human processes that shape our planet, enhancing your awareness of global issues.
Internships Opportunities :
I've opted for an internship I've worked on Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Manipur and my task was to collect daily weather report and to write it down and even if there was rain I use to check how many centimetres is it raining, it was a good experience
Placement Experience :
No campus placement is offered so most students persue for SSC examination or State Public Service examination the students are really active about their getting job and regularly training them selves for it so most students here depends on government job
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
We pay 3630 after completing a year in the college, and we have to pay almost 1800 for registration before the final semester examination so it's really affordable but the good thing about is many people also get free admission in other haand the commerce side is still private so it's little expensive
Campus Life :
Campus is really environmental friendly and about social life there are many social groups like NCC and NSS and since I'm a NCC cadet here it's really interesting so the whole experience is really good in ncc besides thaat campus life is not that good nothing much to do in the college campus
Hostel Facilities :
Boys hostel is really bad for this college just like a banch mark it lacks basic facilities like proper accomodation and some also faces ragging who are new there and authorities are not even looking into the problems of boys hostel

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits
My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
