The reason I choose this college was because I always wanted to study design and I always wanted to be and NIFT and NIFT Bangalore offered the best fashion communication course in all of India hands I choose this college. There was an All India Entrance exam conducted as it is a government college, and for those who got above the cutoff, they had to go for round 2 which was the studio round. The preparation for the entrance exam honestly is little because does a lot of competition there is every year some four five lacs of students applying for the entrance exams and even giving it so the compression is pretty high and I went to a lot of design coaching centres and I started preparing for my exams from the beginning of my 11th grade.
I am studying bachelors of design in fashion communication with my deepening specialisation being fashion media and honestly are course curriculum is little outdated it is falling a bit behind on what the rest of the world is doing at least in the sense of fashion media but yet it is a really good course structure. We have a lot of subjects that catered to a lot of different fields of occupation we have graphic design studio photography journalism visual communication in information architecture and stuff like that which increases the scope of getting a job to a much higher level then what the other departments in our college would offer. Since NIFT Bangalore is the best when it comes to fashion communication are faculties are also one of the best in all of the NIFTS in India. Some of the faculties are very young and don't really know how to teach but the ones who have been are college since 1520 years they are all senior professors and really good at what they do.
I have not opted for any internship yet as I just entered 3rd year but towards the end of 3rd year it is mandatory for all third years to do 2 months long Summer internship and those internships will be offered either by the college itself or if we want we can go scouting for retarsi but I don't have any other information on this as of now.
Third year I don't have much information on this but yes we do have campus placements and usually people from different NIFT fly down to NIFT Bangalore for the campus placements. From what I have heard that I be companies that come to our campus as recruiter but I am not very sure about the eligibility criteria for placement. Last year the highest package that was offered by the recruiters to one of our students was 19LPA. This student was from fashion accessories and lifestyle department with har deepling specialisation being in UIUX design. The lowest package that was offered was 4 lakhs per annum.
Tuition fees (non refundable) - 3,00,000 Library fees (per year) - 10000 Mediclaim and student development few (per year) - 3900 Exam fee (per year) - 4900 FOR NRI tuition fees - 9,07,000 Library fees - 52,500 Mediclaim and student development - 33,600 Exam fee - 4900
Our college is really small because it's right in the heart of the city it's honestly a very small campus but we do keep doing a lot of extra curricular activities and we keep organised in a lot of you know cultural evenings so that it does not get to repetitive for all the students. Our lives as designs students honestly is very tough because we hardly get any time to ourselves because of all the piling up assignments and the limited amount of time to complete them. But then all of this are college also offers a lot of like this sports club cultural club environmental club photography club digital design club social media club and we also have a lot of weeks for all of these club so every club has their own independent week where all this students can participate in different competitions in the context of the clubs for that particular week.
I live in apartment right now but I did live in the hostel in my first year and it is really really worth it. There are three different kinds of rooms that you will get you will either get a double sharing room which is basically you will be sharing the just one more person they will be a triple sharing room which means that one room will be shared between 3 people and then there is a quadruple sharing room which is basically two rooms connected together with one common washroom in the room itself like attached washroom that will be share between 4 people. Every single room has an attached balcony as well as an attached washroom so you don't have to share with the entire hostel you have your own space and you can take care of your hygiene yourself. The hostel also provides us with cleaning facilities so there is always made available to clean your room when you are not there in it. And as far as food is concerned it is pretty decent. The hostel is only available to first years.
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

All the faculties are extremely well qualified from top institutions of the world and they are all extremely approachable and nice. The term exams we had were split like CP1, CP2, and CP3 of 20+25+25 marks each. They were some easy ones, and some application based, which develops the engineering thinking mindset
