- I really liked the faculty at the Bangalore campus. They have a very good and practical approach at teaching. It's more than just books or conventional tasks. They know how to get your mind working in ways you didn't even know you could. They are also very supportive and approachable.
- The campus has the perfect atmosphere for a design student. Every wall has a creative touch to it. The campus is well equipped with resources accessible to all. It doesn't feel tiring to spend the entire day in campus. It has become like a second home.
Dislikes
- The mess food could definitely be improved. Also the seating capacity falls short during rush hours.
- I wish we had a bigger campus. It would have added to our campus experience.
Remarks :
NIFT is the best option in the country when it comes to studying fashion. There is an entrance exam that one needs to clear for admission. It is a written exam with both the CAT(drawing) and GAT(theory) portions. There were no group discussions or interviews conducted. Once you clear the written exam you qualify for the second round which is the situation test which examines your craft and hands-on skills.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is very well structured for a design student. There is a good balanced mix of everything. The faculty members are very supportive and approachable. Nift is very strict when it comes to assignments so the teachers will be a little strict while reviewing your work but they give good feedback and constructive criticism which helps you in improving the quality of your work. The best part is there are no textbooks. It is a creative hands-on experience while learning. The fee is roughly 2 lakhs per semester leading up to 16 lakhs for 4 years. There are government scholarships available on the campus to which the qualifying students can get access. There are no written exams but we get two major assignments at an interval of 2-3 months and one final assignment which is presented before an end-term jury for review. The assignments given are very interesting and fun to work on.
Internships Opportunities :
I am still in the second year and internships usually start in the third year. Students can apply for internships in any year but it usually takes time to build a good portfolio so the third year is the most convenient when it comes to applying for internships. A good number of companies are available that give opportunities to Nift students. Students can submit their portfolio to faculties who in turn connect the students to companies in their contact and act as a mediator. It is a very smooth experience. The teachers can just circulate your portfolio in companies they have a contact in and help you out.
Placement Experience :
Having only started the 2nd year I don't really have a lot of idea about the placement process but I had talked to a few seniors to gain a little knowledge about it. A good number of companies around 8-10 come for the on campus placements after the completion of 8th semester. Students sit for the placements with their resumes. Placements are also done off campus if someone lands a pre placement offer based on their graduation project. Almost 70% of the students get placed during the placement season with the average package ranging from 6 lakhs per annum to 20 lakhs per annum.
Campus Life :
The campus is very inclusive when it comes to celebrating festivals. Everything from Onam, Pongal, Lohri, Dussehra, Diwali, Holi is celebrated with equal Vigour and enthusiasm. When it comes to fests there are two major ones, The spectrum and the Converge. There are a lot of clubs on campus like the photography club, literature club, sports club, cultural club and social service club run efficiently by an elected student council. There is a well equipped library present in the campus which stays open till 8 pm and contains all the books and reference materials one could ever need. I have never faced the disappointment of not finding a book I was looking for. Hostel accommodation is present on campus but is available only for girls. Boys need to find pgs outside campus. The hostel registration is done after the campus allotments are complete during admissions. You can register through the separate hostel websites available for each Nift campus. The food is pretty decent and affordable.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement

Course Curriculum Overview :
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

Placement Experience :
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
