- the campus life of the college is good. There are several cultural clubs and activities. there are clubs for literature,quizzing and sketching as well apart from clubs like dancing,singing etc and fun events are conducted by these cultural clubs through the year where people from nearby colleges also participate in. The fests are great where celebrities like Shirley setia, Sachin Jigar, Rahat fateh Ali khan, Zakir Khan, Suhani Shah, etc have visited in the past.
- The college has a great engineering culture and a strong alumni base. there are multiple tech clubs for every engineering branch where people build real industry standard projects which greatly helps in making them job ready.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is improving but is still below par compared to other NITs. although the campus boundaries are huge but the developed campus area is very small in comparison. some of the hostels are old and need renovation and are troubled by pests as the hostel administration never conducts any serious pest control. The Mess food is also below average and ni efforts are made to improve the food quality.
- The college , and in particular, the electronics department has a very difficult academic curriculum and professors who make it even though. There are several professors in the Electronics department whose courses become backlog subjects for many students and no relaxation can be expected from any faculty of our department
Remarks :
The major factor that made me choose this college was the placement data. the average placement of the college is very great with my branch having an average CTC of 23 LPA. Some bad aspect which I was aware of during the admission was that the campus is not very large but that did not concern me. admission in any NIT is given through the JEE mains score. After the exam one must go through the JOSAA admission process where they must submit necessary documents and some portion of the college fees. The cutoff for my branch (ECE) was around 98.4 percentile. whereas production branch had the lowest cutoff of 96 percentile For the JEE mains exam I prepared through a local coaching in my town
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the course of electronics because of the increasing demand of semiconductor professionals and VLSI engineers. All the faculty in the college have a PHd. The teaching method is like any other college where more focus is given on theoretical concepts and written assignments. Every semester two set of exams are held, the mid semester and end semester examination. The difficulty level greatly depends on the branch as well on the professor, but the electronics department of our college is famous for difficult question papers and strict marking, and it is difficult to score grades.
Internships Opportunities :
I have begun my 2nd year so I haven't opted for internships yet. A lot of companies which visit during campus placements also visit for internships. This year google hired 3 software engineer interns with a stipend of 1.2 lakhs / month. Atlassian hired 4 software engineer interns for a stipend of 1.3 lakhs/month. Amazon hired 3 software engineer interns for 1 lakh / month. United bank of switzerland hired 10 software engineer interns at a stipend of ?40k/ month. Other companies giving offers included money view,Optum, Pal Tech etc.
Placement Experience :
The placements at NIT Jamshedpur are great and one of the best among NITs . There is no eligibility criteria enforced by the college but Companies often disallow students if they have any active backlog subject. Some of the recruiters are amazon,google,oracle,atlassian,money view,Qualcomm,Texas Instruments,Pal Tech, Olx Autos, Vyapar, yellowai, Rubrik The highest package of 1.23 crores was given by Rubrik to one student. Atlassian offered 83 lakhs to 6 students. all these placements were for the profile of SWE(software engineer). The overall average package is 15 Lakhs whereas for circuital branches it is more than 20 Lakhs. My plans are to prepare for campus placements to secure a job before completion of the degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure of the fees paid by me is applicable to general and OBC students. the fee structure is semester wise , so yearly fee can be assumed to be the double Tuition fee of Rs 62500, Examination fee of Rs 1000, Training and Placement fee of Rs 500, Library fee of Rs 2000, Computer and Internet fee of Rs 1000, Student Welfare fee of Rs 500, Medical Insurance fee of Rs 1000, Bus Charges fee of Rs 1000, Sports fee of Rs 1500, Cultural and Tech fee of Rs 2000, E Campus fee of Rs 2000, Innovation Project fee of Rs 4000. additionally a caution fee of Rs 10000 is charged only from the 1st semester students For SC and ST students the tution fees is zero,but other components remain the same. The college provides a fee waiver programme for students in need. students with family income of less than 1 LPA dont need to pay any tution fees. Students with family income between 1 lakh and 5 lakh need to pay 33% of the tution fees ie Rs 20833 per semester.
Campus Life :
The campus life is decent with 3 major fests and several club activities. the fests are Urja - sports fest, which is conducted during October - November. Culfest - cultural fest, which is conducted during February. Ojass - Tech Fest, conducted during April. Apart from this all branches conduct their own branch fests , the date of which vary from branch to branch. There is a three floored central Library where several academic books of all engineering fields as well as pure sciences are available. There are dedicated rooms in the library for research journals. Classrooms have a capacity of 120 students with Centralised AC and wifi with speed of 20-30 mbps. Several sports are played , apart from popular sports like cricket,football,lawn Tennis etc. athletic sports like javelin is also played there are several cultural and tech clubs. clubs for photography,dancing,singing, dramatics etc. clubs for IoT, coding, aeronautics, solar powered vehicles, etc are available.
Hostel Facilities :
although the menu of the hostel mess is very diverse with north Indian as well as south indian dishes, both vegetarian and non vegitarian but the food quality and taste of the mess food is below average and complaints are ignored by mess administration. hostels are decently affordable the hostel rent is Rs 15000 per semester and mess fee is Rs 18000 per semester. hostel and mess are included by default in the registration for every student. To opt out of hostel allotment applications can be given to dean of student welfare.

Placements are the main reason people come here. For Electrical, big players like Tata Steel, JSW, and Vedanta are regulars. The average package stays around ?7–8 LPA, while the highest can go up to ?15–20 LPA for core branches. You become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. I’m planning to sit for GATE as well, as many seniors here aim for PSUs. For internships, the college helps with vocational training in places like DVC or HURL, though paid internships are something you usually have to hunt for yourself on LinkedIn.
Average University in Jamshedpur in low fee

You have to at least maintain 7CGA for sitting in placement season company like Wipro Infosys come here placement season. Average package of BBA is 4.5 lakhs. Almost 80% Student are placed through campus placement. My plan after getting degree pursuing MBA
My Dream College
Placement Experience :
College give only about 30% placement and there is very few companies or hospitals which are visited to the college for the employees. You have to do it with yourself when you are go to the internship. The highest and average package as I see is about 30,000 per month and maximum to 50,000 per month And I saw that student who top is maximum getting chance for the placement which is rare .
Netaji Subhas University is best for engineering in low fee and for who is already doing job

You have to not active backlog in any subject. 8+ cgpa perefer first then below 8+. Eternal achievers, infinite solution, paul tech like local jamshedpur it company visit for placement. 80% students placed from our university. I will look for higher education.

I don't have any specific information about placements because I am still studying, but some seniors have got jobs which tells me that everything is fine. There are some seniors who work in Tata Motors and DRDO with good payments.

The intern is provided for training in nearby schools in 3rd semester. It is unpaid internship basically done under the curriculum.It is compulsory for the students to complete this teacher's training to get the B.ed degree. There is no such placement opportunities You have to go off campus to get placed in any school.

There is no campus placement in this college, so we have to plan our own jobs or internships after completing the course. Eligibility criteria for jobs depends on companies, mostly they ask for basic knowledge and skills related to the course. Some students do internships on their own in local companies or online. Since there is no official placement, there are no recruiters, packages or offers from college. Around 0% students get placement from college itself. My plan after degree is to prepare for government jobs and also apply for some private jobs related to my field. Overall, college is good for learning, but for placements you have to work on your own

"Placements in my college are slowly improving but still not at the level of top engineering colleges. Some companies visit every year but the number of offers is limited. Students who have good skills and prepare on their own get opportunities easily. The eligibility for sitting in placements is usually 6.0 CGPA and no major backlogs. Recruiters like small IT companies, training firms and a few core-related companies have visited. The highest package was around 6–7 LPA and the average stays near 3 LPA depending on the branch. Around 25–35% students get placed from campus and others go for off-campus drives. Internships are mostly arranged by students themselves through online platforms. After completing my degree, I plan to prepare for off-campus jobs and also improve my technical skills to get a better job in company or in government job
Expensive college with mediocre placements
Placement Experience :
Placements are mediocre in my branch ece. Last year 60-70 percent students are placed. Average package is 13lpa approx and highest in my branch was 58lpa. Core companies like NXP come for placement. Tech companies like foipkart, meesho, visa, goldman sachs come for placement.
